There doesn't seem to be a topic to handle daily ASL life. So here's a place to discuss ASL daily living here on Gamesquad.

Today I'm finally cutting out the overlays from AoO. Also reorganizing my overlay storage system.

Also setting up a playtest of a Japanese attack on a fortified Chinese village.

Continued to sort and price up Ian Daglish's ASL gear for sale at Heroes at the weekend.

I hate this.

I'm breaking the day up. I'm getting defensive set ups ready for those scenarios not already prepared for the tourney.

Off colour though. Off work with a nasty case of the trots. Not a good day really.

...sending an email to all VASLeaguers (they are 113 after the first round) to inform them about the new pairings and about their next tournament round.

Interesting thread, Dan. ASL is indeed a part of "daily life" for me on a number of levels.

I have several ongoing projects, but today:
-taking my last look at the eASLeague rules doc before publishing for comment tomorrow
-proofing/editing some scenarios
-discussing a design of his with a friend
-finally doing a setup for a game that I've taken way to long to get to (Hi, Houlie!)
-hopefully repeating that last comment (Hi, Andy!)
-trying to contact my VASLeague round 2 opponent.

Nice idea, I like it!

Today, I looked for scenarios that would be good for three players, found "Dying for Danzig" , set up the scenario and played through the first turn solo.

I think it is great for three. Too bad my ASL group already played it once........ We might play again, but I need to find a back up plan.

Also, did some research on battles in France, June 1940.

Today I...

  • Sent an email to my new VASLeague opponent
  • Sent an email to my new Tournoi VASL opponent
  • Took a look at the scenario chosen by my Tournoi VASL opponent
  • Read an OOTA #2 article
  • Downloaded the latest 2 Half Squads podcast
  • Worked on my ASL Gun storage (sorted, boxed, and stickered about 60 Gun types)
  • Walked to the mall and ordered a custom frame for my Red Barricades map
  • Walked from the mall to my favorite cafe where I read another OOTA #2 article while sipping a double espresso
  • Read some threads on GS, FFASL, BGG, Facebook ASL and VASL groups

Mark is very helpful on BGG. He dutifully enters "ASL" into the comments field for each ASL product in the database there.

Today I'll be proceeding in a solo game of a scenario from Hell's Bridgehead 3. My first experience with the dreaded black SS counters. Problem is, the Countersmith turret counters are still blue-gray.

I've really been enjoying CH scenarios on historical maps (but not their customer service -- no email responses, voice mailbox full). They need a Luann Youse to put things in order.

Edit -- Also just downloaded the three CHonline magazines to read later.

I forgot how much fun cutting overlays is.
Maybe you need one of these:

It's just a question of using the right tool, and applying More Power.

Getting the scenarios out and reviewing them for upcoming "Bitter Ender" in April. Posting my usual dribble on the GameSquad ASL forum at this very second...

Went through some CH stuff. Found a few un-punched counter sheets in the original games and a few un-mounted ones as well. Now I know why I put them away.

looked over scenarios to pick something for my next FtF game the end of the month
checked gamesquad for updates on the PBEM league
searched COW and ASLScenario Archive for any battles on the taking of the Golan Heights in 1967 - couldn't find any
printed and attached more labels for my evolving coin envelope system
