Added a Korean War scenario.

Involving mostly the 3rd RAR (Royal Austrailian Regiment) and the 2 PPCLI.(princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry).

Small battlefield, for PBEM only, I believe.

Good Luck.

I've spotted some significant OOB/TOE problems with this scenario. Namely:

1) You don't seem to have noted my earlier post that the TOEs of British Commonwealth units in Korea were essentially idendical to their organisations of WW2. I recomend that you find a copy of Gordan Rottman's brilliant 'Korean War Order of Battle'.
2) British 'regiments' are battalions, meaning that the Middlesex battalion is three times as large as it should be!
3) The New Zealand Artillery Regiment was equiped with 24 pounder guns, with each battery having 8 of these excelent guns.
4) The US Cavalry is mis-named. The US 1st Cavalry Division in Korea consisted of a number of 3 battalion regiments, one of which was the 5th Cavalry Regiment.
5) The TOE of the US Tank battalion is wrong - the M5 light tanks were retired in 1945. Again, Rottman has excelent TOEs for US Armour in Korea
6) AFAIK, having more then one HQ unit in a TOAW formation is a bad idea, as the destruction of any of theses HQ units will have the same adverse effects on the formation as if all the HQs had been destroyed. Anyway, given that company HQs are the size of small platoons, I'm not sure why you've included them for the Canadians given that this is largely a battalion scale scenario.

Hello,

there were plenty of things I am sure I missed.

I really miss not having 1 KM range hexes.
NZL artillery was substituted to give longer ranges to support the forward battalions. Because of the wrong scale size things had to change.

a 0.5 km scale would've been cool but none available.

It's obvious I took liberties with the OOB.
But what with 3 Chinese Divisions coming towards them, I had to deploy the battalions with a little more Ooooopmphh!
I am positive, they would have been beefed up, given more equipment and probably a few extra squads here and there. (why, because I have been on some Ops where we were supplemented, and we were only doing field exercises for a couple of weeks)

The American units are not there for battle, really, there for the fact of being there, protecting the left rear flank. Their actions will have no effect on the battle, unless the Chinese come all the way down the road then they will see action.
The Middlesex, yes you are correct, i was unsure of this unit along with the NZFR. I cannot find my World War II book, huge mother of a book and has everything in it, I mean everything.

Am I satisfied with the scenario. Not entirely, was fairly busy while doing it.
But it is playable, fairly accurate and does portray the meaning of the battle.
The Chinese were barreling down on 2 Battalions with support units and the Battalions held, teaching the Chinese what soldiers from free nations can do.
Something like that.

I more or less designed it for fun and for practice as well.
If ya don't like it, I am sorry. I knew I would get some complaints from the Aussies, but hey, I tried.

Have you tried playing against somebody yet???
how many scenarios have you designed? May I try one?

Sorry for anyone who is upset.

Proably not - all the Commonwealth units had been in battle for months and are more likely to have been seriously understrength.

how many scenarios have you designed? May I try one?

I've released three scenarios (Tarakan 45, Zimbabwe 2003 and Walvis Bay 91) and a bunch of maps. All 3 scenarios and the maps are available from the downloads section on this site. I'd greatly appreciate any comments you may have on them.

I surrender! :D

Does this go under a W.A.R.S. report, wuddya think?!

lol

I am unsure of the strengths of each unit involved. Of course history books don't always include the small schtuff!
I'll tell ya what, I'll leave the scenario intact the way it is, I'll do more research and possibly check my Regiment's library, however I am 11th FR so the likelyhood of them having in depth records is nearly Nil.

Oh well, I will do research and complete another one as accurate as I can get it. Cool?!

I did the scenario more for fun and keep my brain active, seeing as how my job now entails simple DB restructuring, inputting and some small Access programming. Lotsa paper pushing too! Sheeeesh!
I have family members that were in WWII and Korea and I know very little about the Korean war, which kinda pisses me off because it was a significant war that technically, is still going, only a ceasefire is preventing the conflict from continuing.

Anywho.... I am planning a new one, one with which I am VERY familiar with.
"Hunt for the Bismark"
It will be the breakout of the Bismark and Prinz Eugen and involving H fleet tracking them down. There will be Supply ships moving from N.America to England which the 2 ships may prey on.
(gotta check spelling)
I am going to try and use 'BioEd' to create my ships and Recon Aircraft, if possible. I think it will be very difficult and should get my brain going.
Have to create subs and support units for both sides.
And hopefully the tweaked units will not be destroyed after a single battle.(I have a few ideas)
Once again the 'Hood' will be levelled by the Bismark's guns.(Sorry Allies but the Ship was incredible, her and the Yamato were incredible, damn torpedoes. as well as the sister ships.)

Ever seen the flick? "Sink the Bismark", good movie!!! I love B&W war movies.

PS--> Any experience with BioEd?
