For the past two months I've had a situation with ACOW that I can't seem to correct. When I click on the game it openes to the start screen as usual, then click on saved or PBM, then click on scenario, and then presto, right back to the start screen again. On the second time around the saved/pbm scenario will open. This started after my last reformat. I don't remember if I installed 1.04 before or after the nocd patch, if that matters. I'm running xp and did not have this problem before. Any ideas anyonyone?
The version 1.04 executables are the ones that are in the nocd patch. You might be having some sort of driver conflict. I've noticed that recently my TOAW installation is coming up with more conflicts with my XP box, a Toshiba laptop. Primarily graphically oriented situations, like the screen doing a strange flicker, or the buttons staying depressed when in the editor, and moving through events.
Earlier tonight, I thought I was going to have the program lock up as I was starting a series of attacks. It froze for about 30 seconds, then after pressing the buttons along the bottom of combat report screen it finally unfroze. I seem to notice these types of problems more often when playing with the regular Opart executable, than when I use Opart300. Also, more often when in the scenario editor than when playing the game. Possibly because these are the older portions of the code, and least compatible with XP.
I know that wasn't any help other than reassuring you that misery loves company... ;)

LOL, but thanks anyway. I switch the game to open with opart300 with no effect on the problem. However you may have a point about the driver problem. I was a little sloppy/lazey on my last reformat; not using a checklist for reinstallations and updates. Which reminds me, M$ has a new windows update page, you don't even have to choose what you want/need, it's already decided for you. :cheeky:
