Yeehaw, received my ACoW from http://take2store.com ... thank you for all your guidance and tips, Opera-Heads !!

I'm hoping for some help before I plunge in though:

Can I install ACoW as a "separate" program from the TOAW (v 1.07) that I already have installed? Or will this munge up the registery?

Reason I'm asking, the TOAW CD version I installed earlier this week specifically stated that "previous versions" of TOAW should be "Uninstalled" to prevent conflicts.

Is this true for ACoW too?

I'm running WinXP, AMD 1.1 GHz CPU with 1 GB RAM, and have a GeForce3 w 64MB VRAM.

And again, thanks in advance for your help.

I should simplify my question:

I have the CD version of TOAW (patched to 1.07) installed on my machine.

If I install my newly arrived ACoW, will it install as a separate program, or are there likely to be registry conflicts with TOAW?

In installing the old version, the user guide emphasized the importance of uninstalling earlier versions. Nothing like that came with the ACoW install notes.

If there's any doubt, I'll happily uninstall TOAW and just plunge onwards with ACoW.

Can't speak from experience here, as I've only ever owned CoW, but you should just make the plunge and go strictly CoW, unless you have some ongoing games with other players on the older version. Virtually all new scenario design work is being done for CoW, rather than the older versions, and as the Windows platform moves on, there will be fewer conflicts.

Thank you, Gentlemen.

It's good to know one can install separate versions of TOAW (to resume old grudges or entice former players to upgrade to CoW), even though CoW 1.04 is the dominant one in use here at Warfare HQ.

I realize this info has probably been hashed over many times before, but after several Forum searches, I was hopelessly lost ... how about posting a comprehensive Technical FAQ on the front TOAW page entitled "Verion and Install FAQ" or some-such?
