Briefing: As your forces move North reports come in of a large Rebel force coming in from the West toward your flank. The above companies peel off and set up a defensive line to protect the flank of the main attack force.
Mission: Hold off any advancing Rebel forces who are trying to flank your forces making the attack on the town. Do not let any of the pnetrate your lines and reach the East edge of the map.

Our troops are tasked to make sure nobody gets to right side of map,so in the first 2 turns I'm consolidating my troops and moving them east and north away from the enemy, they are still spread along a line similar to the original deployment running south central to east central basically.
One rebel BRDM-2 has been spotted moving near the roadway toward the top part of the map. I'm trying to get a few squads up near the roadway to intercept it.

I've spotted a number of enemy units* moving down the roadway toward the east, unfortunately most of my troops are out of position if the enemy continues to go down the road to get to the east side of map.
I'm continuing to move north and east. I should be able to get some squads into the area of the road before the enemy gets there.
*one T-54A ,one BMP-R,one BRDM-2 carrying 2 61mm mortars and one rebel squad and a lone MMG unit deployed ahead of them.

More enemy units seen at this point. 3 T-54A's confirmed,at least one each of the scout vehicles. After some positional movement 10th company is moving into ambush positions in a small town area along the road, the company is still spread out,but about half of them are going to be able to be a factor along the road. The rest are out ahead to the south attempting to make contact with the enemy first.
The enemy force seems mobile so far ,but I suspect Rebel companies coming through the woods.
8th and 9th companies are still further west and south ,one of the T-54A's is coming toward them from the southwest.

Repositioning troops along the defense line, several squads now guard the roadway but it appears visually at least that the enemy isnt coming down the road.
still waiting for contact,nothing yet.

We have a firefight,Rebels opened up on some squads they sighted routing one and killing some men.A T-54A blasted another killing 3 men. In one area in the heavy woods a couple Rebel RPG-teams,probably scouts for an infantry force, attacked a squad,we returned fire and managed to destroy one rpg-7 team drawing first blood in the battle.
I seem to have a slight terrain advantage.
Rebels have a decent mixed force here it seems an anti air unit is fireing on my hilltop position from the roadway backed by tanks and scout vehicles and a couple mortar teams.

Battle getting fiercer now and it has become evident that we are going to lose the battle of the roadway,A T-54A,2 BRDM-2's and probably a company plus worth of infantry is pushing maybe 2/3 of a company of my infantry.
Simple math tells me that unless I do some rebel killin in a hurry they will make it to the east side of the map along the road, being there is still 13 turns left.I managed to rout one Rebel squad along the road but numerous other Reb's routed my squad that attacked it.
Managed to destroy a 2nd RPG team near where I got the first one,but Rebels are numerous. Will attempt to hold the line to the last man.

Fighting continues ,I have yet to have any squads or other units destroyed to this point, there is one of my Support Squads that is running and down to 2 men that could be the first to go.
While playing back my opponents turn I saw my troops destroy a 7.62mm PKMS MMG unit.
The roadway battle is becoming tense with a Rebel T-54A and several squads working together,as well as plently of units I cant see at the moment, are attempting to punch through the area closest to the right map edge.I have about 5 active squads and a scout team in the area,if they get through them they are home free as the Rebels have engaged and routed several of the squads that where to reinforce what is in the road area now.
Down to a dozen turns left,God willing I will hold off these Rebels.

My cheerful optimism of the last turn has been shattered, the Rebels are everywhere like an ant nest that has been kicked open. On reviewing the enemies turn one of my support squads as well as a scout squad have been destroyed.
Near the roadway most of my troops are routed and retreating. The situation is grim there and the Rebels are close to the map edge. To the south I have 4 squads combat ready that are going to have to deal with more Reb's pushing there way through in that area. The enemy killed half of my northern 2x60mm Mortar unit and it may be finished off in the next turn, those 4 squads are coming up behind the mortar unit.
I'm doing better to the West and South where the Rebels have a long way to go to the map edge.I still have alot of active squads there to deal with the Rebel advance.Caught one Rebel Squad below and in the open and destroyed it.

I speak to you from a command tent of a zone completely overrun by Rebel forces that are mobile, agile and most defintely hostile.
I have lost many brave troops under my command today,A 2x60mm Mortar ,another Scout,4 Pro Gov Squads,3 more Pro Gov Support Squads, most of my troops are badly beaten upon and in many cases halfed in number, making them easy clean up for this agressive Rebel commander. I have one more card to play ,several squads that I believe are undetected by the enemy have positioned themselves in woods ahead of a rumbling T-54A,perhaps we can take it down if fate favors us.Me and my personal aides have begun an exodus to the safe corner of the map.We did make a couple Rebel units surrender,A Scout team and an RPG-7V team, perhaps they will tell us something.
This is a a very humbling feeling, our first major defeat at the hands of the Rebels,I can only hope that our other Pro Gov commander WAAPE, will crush the rebel hold upon the town.

Things are continuing on a downward spiral, I managed to kill an enemy BRDM-2 and an MMG team but lost another mortar and many more troops. The enemy has it easy now simple clean up,myself I'm running for it(and the enemy isnt to far away)

Just running for my life at this point very few squads left, just hoping my HQ unit gets away now.

HQ unit continues to move toward safe area, but Reb's captured a vic hex not far away from the unit.
I think there were 3 other partial routed ,retreating infantry squads.
This was a complete loss,I was attempting to retreat from the battle (still waiting on Double Duece's response),but after closer examination whats the point ,everything is gone.

Wheeling to the West to protect the attack on the town and expecting to meet only a small flank attack by Rebel Forces it appears that the whole Rebel army showed up in the fight. Outnumbered at least 3 to and facing heavy armored forces the Pro-Government forces were quickly overrun with onoy ahbndful of squads withdrawing back tot the main forces who just recently were successful in taking the town.
Pro-Government Force losses were devastating and included;
8th Pro Government Infantry Company
...x8 Pro Government Squad
...x3 Support Squad
...x1 2x 60mm Mortars
9th Pro Government Infantry Company
...x9 Pro Government Squad
...x3 Support Squad
...x1 2x 60mm Mortars
...x1 Pro Gov Scouts
10th Pro Government Infantry Company
...x6 Pro Government Squad
...x3 Support Squad
...x1 2x 60mm Mortars
...x1 Pro Gov Scouts
Both Rebel and Pro-Government Forces are still active in the zone!
