Could someone direct me to a thread about how to take (not post) screenshots from TOAW games? Pelle did try to expalin it to me, but either I'm incredibly stupid (quite likely) or my game isn't working properly.

I've got the usual Microsoft XP system, plus something called Arcsoft Photoimpression which I can use to display and edit pictures and photographs.

Cheers.

just hit the PRINT key on your keyboard, start your paint program, open a new blank image and CTRL-V to past the image from the clipboard into your blank image.

Or use the 'create map image' function, and then edit the picture to display the part of map you want.

The file can be enormous big if you it. Be warned. You must have program that handles .tga files also.

press the "print screen" on your keyboard when you have the image you want to capture on your monitor. Then load MS Paint (you can minimize TOAW to the taskbar, no need to close it)-- or any other imaging software -- and goto Edit --> Paste and viola, the screen shot will appear.

Print screen will do the job but if you want more control, try something like MWSnap (http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html) (which is freeware).

Get it going ok?

Yes thanks - MS Paint seems the easiest, and I like the way you can add arrows, text, etc., to the snapshot.

Westpointer, thanks I also downloaded the program. I will try it out, hopefully it is easier to use than my current one.

Out of curiosity; I have seen in several AARs pics taken with "Screentaker" and I faintly recall or imagine recalling seeing that in some thread here... Anyone knows it, is that better, and freeware?
