Is there a place which hosts massively expanded OOBs and scenarios like the old NIR Project for the Talonsoft games?

That's awesome. Is there a similar site for the HPS titles? Or do the Napoleonic games have the same uneditable OOB problem?

That is two separate questions. Regarding a similar site, I'm not aware of one, however the maps are not editable although I think that it is possible to do the equivalent of cropping them into a smaller map.

Are the (Napoleonic) OOB's editable? There is a basic editor tool on the SDC site, since the data folder on the HPS version of that tool has both Eckmuhl and Russian Campaign .inf files, you can at least edit those two game's files I guess. The others you may have to try it manually by opening the OOB file in a basic text editor like notepad. That isn't to say that you have to use that OOB editor program as if it is like the EAW series, the notepad method should work.

I guess you could say that you might have a limited ability but I think you can. I know you can for 1776.

Don't know how officialy sanctioned these are, as at least one of them has its own version of the game engine, but there's:
http://www.cobexlaw.com/campaign/eckmuhl.htm
and
http://www.grimdahl.net/Downloadcenter/Sites/Downloads.htm
It isn't hard to convert the .map files from the site hosting the NIR Project files to run on Eckmuhl, but of course you then can only use the original game engine and not the patched versions.
Cheers, Andrew

It is perfectly possible to edit HPS Napoleonic oob files using Wordpad. I've done so; never had any luck with stand alone oob editor programs.

The Units graphics files are also editable for uniformologists. The PDT and Weapon files are editable if you want to change certain game parameters or weapon types.

I hear you on that one- in fact I usually use both the editor and text coding. The editor though made it easier to assign graphics for me. In a sense I suppose it is exactly like using a WYSIWYG html editor... it helps to know HTML coding as well

There's the reason my Waterloo Units file contains conveniently placed numbered "blanks." This made it easier to assign proper references in the oob.
