Hi, i download the custom scenario of the Battle Of Blenheim for Eckmuhl but cant play it because Eckmuhl version isnīt the correct for the scenario, plus the zip dont content the alternate Units.bmp "Three varients for the battle of Blenheim that took place on the 13th of August 1704. You can also used this altered Units.bmp file with this download." but where is the bmp???

in Rahamy can update the BMP and the patch of the version adecuated for the scenario...............

Those are pretty old scenarios...Rich White did them sometime in '03 or '04...I just posted them when I merged my SDC site into here. I'm swamped so I don't have time to work with thise, but I'll send RW a note and see if he does.

First thanks Rahamy for the quick response.

I see, its a scenario made for a very old version not as the Austerlitz scenario or the Eskau/Riga that are a little more recent and works fine.

Well, again thanks for your time Rahamy.

Dr Frankestein reporting hehehehe. I made a little experiment with "The Eagle has landed" mod (version 1.08 of Eckmuhl) and Blemhein scenarios runs fine .... well the marsh convert in a beach and roads continue invisible in the map and of course the units.bmp is MIA but the scenarios seems full playable.

Xaver if that seanrio has its own image set, you can use the oob editor file in order to assign whatever graphics you have to your units.

(Of course these would need to be in the same file structure as the game itself - in that the Napoleonic series is a little different, structurally, than PzC).

You can get the editor at the site above (it does help to have some experience at database principles- although it is a pretty straightforward tool, all things considered).

Thanks for the link, i know it, but the program don run fine crash and send me to the desktop, the only secure way to edit the oob is do it as .txt

The main problem with the scenarios are 2:

-You cant edit the map, well this is a HPS game problem in all series i know

-The units/leaders.bmp, find leaders is hard and adecuate units of course specially for Spanish Sucesion War, for example i have only a book of decisive battles (few text and big squems of the battles) and the classic J.F.C Fuller Decisive battles (from Meggido to WW2 near 2000 pages and no photograps only battle maps hehehe).

With the game editor i can add things like places names (Blenhein dont have the name of the towns and it provide some inmersion in the game specially the French rat trap in their right flank).

Well if the scenario has originaly a units.bmp its interesting post it because can run it in the Eagle has laded mod.... ummmm a 3Vs2 battle its possible french has 3 armies and in the other side there are 2 a good way to simulate the bad french coordination :p

:( That doesn't sound good- I only got some experience with that editor from playing around with some files in 1776. Luckily, I haven't had the ctd thing yet, and Rich helped me out with understanding which values were what- so in my case it looks like I can probably end up doing both (mainly since the EAW engine now has more weapons' categories than it had when they made up the .inf file for 1776 [well I thunk that is what happened, but I may be wrong about it]).

I wasn't aware that you could add place names - that is good to know, and helps me out in my not so advanced project - it does need some location names as near as I can tell.

I don't know if your specific scenario did have a bmp file with it (I have seen others with them though.)

No, the Blemhein scenario dont have the units.bmp but in the scenario description in the download site seems that the bmp its with the scenario files....

Add the name of the towns is easy, only need search the Fullerīs map, more difficult is edit the map because roads are missing.... well the unit 3D/units files are the other problem but i think if the scenario is fully playable.

:) Well, Xaver- that's your map .. which isn't the one I am working with... but I understand your point. :D And understand the limitations that you are talking about. In my case I need to find some time to do a yellow or something road and/or trail bmp graphic mod to see where I stand as far as my own project's road network goes.... I can't read the stock brown roads/trails all that well (I am hoping it is not my eyes - I could even live with my printer messing up).

I won't get into map editing- as far as I know the only thing the casual player, scenario designer can in fact do is resize maps to a smaller size (well at least I am pretty sure that I read that somewhere...) I do understand what you are saying, however.
