In a fairly small "HPS Nappy" community I find it strange that people try to disguise their true names. Perhaps its the win at all costs that is the natural bent of some nations:)

Perhaps, or perhaps there are other reasons? I personally do not feel the need to splash my name across 100 forums for no reason. People I PBEM against I naturally tell since that is good manners, but I cannot see what purpose it serves either way to have it as your forum handle.

It is not always a good idea to have your real name spread all across the internet. Employers and others are more and more using Google to look into applicants. Why advertise that you are a "history geek" (to quote my wife.)
