I created a sound of Battle to play in the background during 1776 or 1812.
I echoed the sounds to give it a far off distance feel. I put alot of musket/cannon fire as well as commands being called inorder to show a battle going on somwhere.
I will make one for FIW...with French commands and of course Indian..yipes as well.
It is the Background file....

I like it, good job! The only tweak I would make would be to alter the file name to a 6 at the end, so people could apply it to their games without overwritting any of the existing files recently released on the HPS site.

I was thinking about the technicalities involved in this (means I'd gotten into the files and noticed a music folder). And while I could have experimented by plunking in a .wav file of my own first .. .and thereby not have this question... I had not gotten to that yet.

So am I right in thinking that the music folder of the game files, would pick up any .wav file? Is there a limit to the numbers you can use?

Any .wav file is correct, and no, there isn't a limit that I'm aware of, though I don't listen to the music, so I have never experiemented with it.

The thing is you can't play the Background sound together with the Music File. I was hoping to place Forest noises with the music file...and distant battle noises with the background.....
Since i couldn't i combined the two into one file to work as a background sound...here it is.......

To place in game just add it to your background folder naming it : Background6

and it should play nicely....
