An at-a-glance series of charts comparing gun capabilities.
Example -the 128 ATG has a phenomenal penetration of over 200mm with AP-shot (red dot), but less than 100mm with HE (green dot).
Note - some guns could fire a mix of shot, but tungsten and hollow-charge were often not available early in the war.
Note - yellow asterisks denote low-velocity guns (under 400 metres per sec muzz velocity), and were inaccurate at longer ranges.
PS - ammo quality and technology improved during the war, I've shown the best ammo in all my charts, so bear in mind that earlier in the war certain ammo types may not have had quite the same punch, (for example German 75mm HC was weaker earlier on)

(ATG's shouldn't count on getting tungsten and HE early on)

What's with all the dots? I'm all confused...even after reading the what-not under the GERMAN type.

Okay mate, for example look at the topmost gun on the German chart, the big 128 ATG, its red (armour-piercing) dot has a fantastic penetration of over 200.
Now look a bit lower at the 37 ATG and you'll see its red dot doesn't even reach 40, real weak, that's why the Germans nicknamed it the 'Doorknocker'.
Later on it was sometimes issued with hollow-charge shells (yellow dot HC) which boosted its penetration to an excellent 160-ish.
The other colours show the penetration capabilities of other types of shells.

PS -Don't try to memorise everything, just browse the charts and compare things for fun..:)
