considering how much time it takes to develop a character to viability, I'll go with my present race: the Gallente.

I did make an engineer/manufacturing character, but you can only train one character at a time per account so I put him in the vat. I may go back and try a Caldari. Some day.

I really like the way CCP has put in some checks and balances here. I think it is an excellent move to prohibit people from training two characters simultaneously on the same account. That will take care of some of the shenanigans, however, I suspect a few really hardcore players might pay for two accounts in order to create a second character.

I also think it is a good idea to allow any character to train any skill, regardless of race. This means that race is an important aspect for giving new characters some flavor, but it's nothing that will keep a person from achieving their dreams. It also gives longtime players more of a reason to stick with the game, since they can always switch career fields and go do something different if what they are currently doing gets boring.

Caldari society is steeped in military tradition. It was at this time that the corporations established themselves as the driving force behind creating and maintaining the new Caldari State. I realize the race you pick when starting influences your character's skills, but given individual playing styles, how important do you vets think races are? And, does anyone have an idea of what race most people choose?

At the Start, the Race determines your Starting skills (what ship u can fly from start etc) but later it realy doesnt matter that much anymore, i am Minmatar but also can Fly allmost all Gallente Ships up to BS also some Caladri ones.

What matters the most is the Value of Perception, Willpower, Intelligence, Memory and Charisma, because they determine the Speed in wich u learn the Skills.

Else it is just a role Playing Aspect of Eve, that i also Play, i am Mimnatar and i like shooting and killing Amarr...............
