A Beta Patch for Harpoon Commander's Edition is now available for those willing to test out experimental software.

Hi everyone,

We've got a Public Beta (v2008.024) Update available via our Members Club. While we do final testing we figured we'd offer you a change to get it early as well. This is still a beta, but it's stable and solid as far as we can tell and includes a brand new feature - The BattleSet Builder! See the change list list below for details.

You can download this as a Registered Download as long as you have registered your Larry Bond's Harpoon Commander's Edition serial number in our Members Club (click on the MEMBERS link in the top nav bar).

WARNING ! This is quite a large update and with the new features included it weighs in at 284MB!

Just so I've got this straight. Is the database on this patch the same as HCDB-080308?

No idea. Just install it and run the game. The version of HCDB currently being used by the game will show up at the bottom of the window border.

I think that HCDB-080308 may be more current since that patch has been in Matrix hands for a loooong time, so it may be contain an older version of HCDB.

No, my HCDB-080308 is a later version of the DB than what was included with the patch.

I've tried to download the patch twice now, & both times the files have been invalid or corrupt.:freak::mad::argh:

Anyone else expirienced the same thing?

This leads on to my next question.

Hmm, bummer. Put up a post at Matrix tech support or at HarpGamer and we'll try and figure out that problem for you.

Compatible, yes. There are features in the patch, however, such as an improved gunnery model, that are incorporated into the patch DB and the later DB release(s).
