between duty and family and some free days :smoke: I have found time to make the French Cuirassiers and Carabiniers of 1815 for the Waterloo Unit.bmp.

Thanks for the reply.
Those blue jackets could even be leftovers from 1809, before the carabiniers became armored. Due to the haste with which l'armee du nord was raised, there were alot of non regulation uniforms. The white just looks sharper, before it gets muddied or bloodied, which is why Naoleon's 1807 flirtation with white coats for the infantry was so short lived.

Yes, I think the time before a parade must have been the hell for the soldiers with a white coat.... I have read about historic tricks with chalk and the test of the officers with a little slap against the chalk-coat .....
