A quick poll designed to solicit information for future titles I am working on. (Rich Hamilton and Charlie Cutshall will stick to the NRC/Waterloo format)

I voted for NRC/Waterloo, not because it is the most realistic, or because anything more realistic than either might not be possible. The 10 mp rate for infantry makes for easier march table calculations.

I liked the Waterloo one because it was like what I was used to with TS games. I also like the scale of those games, especially in regards to cavalry stacking.
I like having the big units and then breaking them up rather than having them, pre-split.

This should vary according to scenario size, scale and length.

Very long scenarios covering several days should use 20 min or even 30 min day turns and 2 hour night turns, with an increase fatigue recovery to compensate. This will reduce the amount of time just marching troops about.

Large and medium sized scenarios should use the standard 15 min turn.

Small scenarios that aren't too long and don't have all that many troops and start with the armies close together would be better with 10 min turns.

Company scale scenarios would use 5 min turns.
