-ironically enough it is a pretty easy to find DvD in Oz- you can get it at Woolworths (one of Australia's big supermarket chains.) - it runs about $A 12.98 .

It's a good film, especially as it used tens of thousands of real people in uniform. No CGI back then!

How does it compare to War and Peace?

Made by the same director.

The battle scenes are comparable, though the War and Peace ones are more...bloody. You can feel the terrible nature of the battle in War and Peace; less so in Waterloo.

I have to say that War and Peace is superior, though the acting in Waterloo is better.
