View Full Version : Using extended ASCII characters in the Editor.

Perhaps I haven't figured this out yet, but is seems that since TAOW has been changed to allow for True Type fonts the extended ASCII character set is unavailable for use.

I'm in the US, and have that keyboard/character config on my PC, but when I'm entering location names I still like to use and occasional ö or à or ü. I like "Königsberg" instead of "Konigsberg." Previously I could make the ö by holding down the alt key and entering 148 on the numeric keypad. With the new update that seems to be gone. Anyone notice? Any workarounds?

Thanks for replies.

Query:

The following site http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/ALTchrc.html

is the same sort of thing?

They're not working for you? If this is the case, have you tried any other Alt/And sites?

Thanks for the link. I'm aware of the ASCII layout and values of what used to be called the "extended character set." I'm just saying that the ability to use characters whose ASCII value is above 127 seems to be taken out of the TAOW scenario editor, and wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Sorry, our last patch screwed up this functionality. This will be fixed in the next patch.

Any approximate ETA?

Any approximate ETA?
Looks now to be within the first couple of weeks in January. Too many things going on in my life to have had the time to finish wrapping up the loose ends before everyone at Matrix goes on their holiday break.

I don't think anyone would want you or anyone else working throught he holidays just to get a patch out that we aren't going to be able to enjoy until after the holidays, anyways. Thanks, James.
