I'm starting this thread as a place for everyone to post updates about your adventures in EVE. Go ahead, brag a little! :D

Me first:

I finally broke 1 million ISK in my bank account! I did it quite accidentally while running trade goods system to system. In the course of my travels, I found two NPC pirate coves and blasted them to heck, earning about 200K in bounties. Not too shabby.

Then, not happy with the money I was making in trade, I tried some mining. This turned out to be much easier money. By adding a cargo expander to my ship, along with an improved mining laser (single diode laser for about 18K), I made a nice haul of condensed Scordite.

Finally, I finished training the appropriate skills and can now use missiles! Hurray!

Check out these cool dorsal missile hatches:

For some reason, I got some neat tail fins too. :hmmm:

My next big goal is to upgrade to a destroyer. I need to do some training in destroyer command and earn a lot more money. Fortunately, I found a bunch of agents with more missions on offer.

That's my update. What about you?

When you get a warning about using offensive equipment in "civilized" space and CONCORD will take offense at such activity...heed it.

When CONCORD labels you an "outlaw" and the timer begins...stay docked until the timer expires.

I lost two ships in 15 minutes Friday night trying to earn a paltry 140k ISK. At this point, I'm completing the mission for the Corp loyalty points and to test ship configurations on live targets.

But on the other hand I do have a Tristan with Armor Repairers and Shield Hardners, Laser Turrets and the skills to use them (lvl 3 min.). I should do alright when I go to clean these dude's clocks tonight.

It's funny that you mention that because something similar happened to me.

I was out mining an asteroid belt when a NPC pirate locks onto my ship without warning. What could I do but the obvious? I locked-on back and shot six missiles at him, blowing him to bits. Next thing I know, I have a 15-minute aggression flag placed on me! What did I do?!? I didn't pick this fight! Fortunately, I spent most of the time in the deserted belt, so no one took a shot at me.

I still can't figure out why I got flagged, though. I guess anybody who fires a weapon for any reason is flagged.

Sorry to hear about your ship. I hope it was fully insured!

(My ships are only insured at around 75% - don't ask me why ).

Did you know that you can fly your ship without a pod? To my horror, I recently discovered that I left my escape pod at a space station and was tooling around the galaxy, taking on pirates, all without an escape pod! Phew...my character dodged a bullet there!

I have destoyed a couple of pirates as part of the tutorial adventures and delivered some important documents. Got lost a few times, too. I don't have a whole lot of money yet, but I'm getting there.

Welcome aboard!
Don the Eve universe is vast, but a couple of things I can recommend. 1. Stay in systems .6 or higher. This is known as 'hi-sec' space. 2. Run missions for a while to get a feel for the environment. They generally pay pretty well for a new character and let you build your skill points. Speaking of, I'm at 5 million skill points and just starting to feel like I can handle myself in Player vs Player Combat.

Chat up "Tashiro Yutani" (that's me) if you feel like it.
