View Full Version : OOB's from a given scenario...?

OK, then......

What I need to do, is 'get' the same OOB's as are listed inside a given scenario.

The dump feature isn't doing it for me, as all I need is the 'formations' information as appears in the 'in game' or 'editor' OOB list...not the full equipment dump...just the formations: ie; National ldr; Army ldr (and attached formations), Corps Ldr (and attached formations) etc etc...

What I require is a list of Formation Heirarchy only, eh? The same exact list one views when opening the 'OOB' per side...when in the game, or better yet, the same list that shows up in the editor (while viewing FORCE EDIT, OOB)

There really has to be an easy way to copy this off to notepad or similar, eh?

Considerably baffled, got to be missing something here!

Help me, Obi Wan! Your my only chance!

You mean a simplified OOB text dump Kurt?

Like i.e.

1 PANZER ARMY
---------------
1 Pz Army HQ
1 Pz Div
2 Pz Div etc etc

Without all the bells and whistles, only the location of each unit, yeah that would be handy.

Yep!

Looks just like this:

v. Kluck 1. Armee 49 70 KÖLN
v. Linsingen II Korps 85 54 STETTIN
IX Res Korps IX Res Korps 61 53 BREMEN 2
IV Res Korps IV Res Korps 72 62 Magdeburg 2
Beseler III Res Korps 84 60 Kustrin 2
v. Lochow III Korps 80 62
v. Arnim IV Korps 72 62 Magdeburg
v. Quast IX Korps 66 50

Which is what really bothers me! I've done it befor, just can't remember how.

Well, then...

Looks like what I wanted was a .xls file for the OOB in question, which for the scenario I'm dealing with, was obtained from Dan Neely back somewhere in the stone ages (acow period, lol).

Thanks again, Dan!!! ;) Even tho you'll probably not remember what this is all about, eh? :paperbag: (Daniel McBrides 'The Great War' ).

"Someday, this computer will be over...." Col. Kurt; AND then I'm screwed if I dont make a back-up to disk,eh?

Now the question becomes one of 'how did he do that ????

It's a neat and handy thing to have, and will probably be of use to just about all scenario modders (attn: Silvain!) eh?

Kurt

Silv, so far that's me as well, lol! BUT once one has the xls file, one can 'copy' and then paste in another format!
(see attachments, 1st is raw, 2nd is result of editing)

Guess what I'm looking for is an Excell clone, eh?

Time to see whether I can figure out the xml downloads mentioned in various 'editting' threads, LOL!

This sure is a lot of work just for a 'players aid' sheet, LOL!

No wonder the German general staff went with the plan they had! ALL this, just to work out a 'mobilization plan' that optimises the available rail capability, while still putting all the units in question into thier correct (by formation) army groupings.

What, Me anal?
