I am interested in this series but I don't know where to start. I really like the Campaign idea.
As I will probably be fighting the AI most of the time, which title do you think has the best Campaign, that is the one where the AI performs best?

I never play the AI, so I can't give a great judgement. That said, the AI as a rule is far better in smaller battles than it is in larger.
So, to my mind, I have to suggest Eckmuhl, as it is mostly small-medium scenarios.
Of course, once you play a human, you'll never go back to the AI
The AI in the Napoleonic Campaign games does not do very well. I initially played the AI until I realized it was rarely moving units. You have three choices:
PBEM
Play against yourself (this option is useful for testing courses of action)
Copy and then modify the scenario giving the AI orders (but the AI will still not show much flexibility)(However, if you give enough orders you can make it interesting for a while)

Dang I was hoping the AI was worth a go in this series.

The Jena campaign is good...as in long and varied in scope.
Jena offers some intersting AI scenarios in the later branches of the campaign. The first one is very large and probably wont work for you. What you could do is choose the Alternate campaign and jump in at the Wurzen-Ellenberg-2 (#2) branch as seen in the list. That will allow you to bypass the large scenario and get right into a nice pursuit situation.
These games are best played by email. You get to know another gamer and the results are much more satisfying.
Sir
If PBEM then its Eckmuhl followed by NRC:)
