View Full Version : Icon Modification
G'day,
I'm wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem I have using MS Paint to modify icons. I'm finding that anything I paint white become see-through when transferred across to TOAW. I've managed to modify some icons without this problem (all of them darker colours), but it doesn't seem to like white.
Ever seen this before, and if so, how did you resolve it? And is MS Paint the programme you used.
Cheers,
Felix

Hi Tane,
Pure white is transparent by design, that's how you can have rounded corners on the counters. Use light gray instead.
I use Paint Shop Pro, but you can do it in MS Paint.
To create the gray used by the "white" icons in MS Paint,
go to the colors menu
select edit colors
click define custom colors
set these values
Hue: = 160
Sat: = 0
Lum: = 232
Red: = 247
Green: = 247
Blue: = 247
Click add to custom colors
click OK

I just use the "Pick" tool. Click on a color you want to match and there you have it.
