There were a couple of things that some people found gamey in CMBO, like the scout jeep, moving on the map edges etc.

I just wonder, what did you consider as gamey in CMBO, and is it better handled in CMBB?

BTW, I generally see nearly nothing as gamey. Except the people who starts to whine when they get their butts kicked, of course only because the bad opponent has used 'gamey tactics of which we all know and silently agreed not to use them'!!! I once had the 'honor' to play such a guy.

Haha - like beauty, gamey is in the eye of the beholder!:D
Is there a consensus on what defines gamey? In a system like CMBO, which is extremely gamey in itself, then almost everything appears gamey. In BO, if both parties get good and gamey and select the strongest units they can then the game becomes pretty balanced and no one has the advantage (maybe excluding racing around the map with a fleet of AA trucks). My first impression of BB is that it's far more realistic and therefore cuts down on the gameyness somewhat.

I never considered map edge usage gamey (not that I ever really used them). It's part of the map and if one is concerned over being outflanked then it's his responsibility to watch them.

I'm not sure what the gamey issue is with scout jeeps - racing around and uncovering enemy dispositions? Isn't that what a scout jeep is for; recon and scouting?

In BO, one thing I heard griping over was having to face AB and VG units all the time. I had no problem using either considering my opponents usually did. Again, this created a somewhat balanced game. A simple solution in this case is to prearrange not to use super inf.

Two possible BB gamey points might be russian smg units and german heavy tanks. The former has fire power ranging from 350 to 550 points; very deadly in a close fight. But with the new effectiveness of MG units, getting close enough to use them might offset the imbalance. Tigers may be a little overpowering in the middle war years if there is nothing that can stand up to them. I think it will get a little tiring having to face them all the time.

Maybe we should do an official survey on what is considered gamey and log the most often protested points.
