Link at BFC...
This is how the game should have been. MUCH improved TacAI and reactions to fire...finally.

Good news indeed, any improvement helps. Hopefully no more Syrian snipers crawling across the road through the legs of my squad leaders without being seen. I'll have to patch and try it out.
The initial response from gamers, as reported on Battlefront's forum, has been very positive. See:

It appears that v1.04 is the game that should have been the initial release version.

I totally agree with you KG_Jag  We're getting ready to start on v1.05 as soon as Charles finish taking a break :D

AI looks a lot better, still some issues with LOS LOF, some discussions about rounds going thru hills to hit guys on the other side.
However, I fear the damage may have been done. hope not though as I would like to see a ww2 version.
There remains for me though the depth dilemma as I'm just not gripped by it so far and dont think I ever will be as it is definitely limited in scope and application for me.
You bever know though, instead of the BF boys bleating on about how its what we want but just havent accepted it yet, they should maybe listen to some of the features that guys want included. Then again I dont know if they achieved the sales they were after to make their living or not.

I've just uninstalled CMSF,I've given up on it even after patching to 1.04.
I bought it in the first place solely on the strength of the CM name, as I thought it'd be using the old tried-and-tested engine, but was disappointed to find it doesn't, so in that respect BF ripped us off by touting it as a CM game when its clearly not.
The old engine was near-perfect so BF must have lost their marbles by ditching it for a new one..
In fairness to BF Mick they have said for 2 years that the engine would be very different to handle Real Time. However, I agree that even after 1.04 I still find it hard to get to grips with as it really does seem as if it is designed purely as an RT with a QB and WEGO system bolted on to it. I havent uninstalled it, but I havent played it either other than to see what difference 1.04 makes to it.
I just find it tedious to play what is essentially the same game over and over. If you play as Syria you die quickly and as the US its more often than not all too easy.

In fairness to CMSF it does have potential but I had to uninstall it for 2 reasons, firstly my 20Gig drive is 97% full and I kept getting 'low space' warnings, so something had to be uninstalled, and secondly CMSF ran very jerkily on my poor old PC even on the 'tiny battle' setting, and I don't want to sport cash to upgrade..
Try buying an external disk. You can get a 120 Gig one quite cheap and it may spring back some life into the old PC. If I'd known your old PC was so limited you could have had the one I just binned as it had a 120 Gig HD, alas its now languishing in the Landfill now.

You could always get a job POS and then you would have the money to buy a new hard drive.
