Maximum map size

Has anyone done larger maps than 1 250k? I want to join 4-6 250k maps together to fight a long div delaying defence.

You can have a map no bigger than 150,000 sq km. Or, if you realize that it will affect the movement times, you can have each square codedinto your terrain equal whatever size you want.

Essentially, you can have a map which represents 387km x 387km. This should be more than large enough for your purposes.

It's too bad DA doesn't have a feature in the editor which allows the scenario author to set the turn length. These really large maps would then be more practicle as each turn could be made to represent four hours. Of course that can be done now by simply doubling the size of each square from 1km to 2km, however, the clock will still report each turn as 2 hours.

I've experimented with some maps that are right at the limit of what DA can do. They do work, but the units also move very slowly and have a very small unit foortprint. That might make it more difficult for some players to visualize what is going on. If you're willing to play scenarios that are 40-50 turns, then there is no reason these larger battles can't be done.
