In 19th century scenarios, a question that I am trying to simulate is the discrepancy between orders given and applied and generally the level of quality of genralship of field (say, divisional) commanders.

For example :

- in 1870, the french army was not so bad and it is really due to poor commanders (especially at divisional command) that big blunders were made (to make a long story short)

- drive and charisma. Generals like Garibaldi or others (Lee, etc.) could make their formation units fight better ets. Of course we cant use Shock options on individual formations.. any other ideas?

how to make generals (and their formations) suddenly stop for a turn, randomly?

how to make this into events?

only brainstorming:

low supply units, low supply radius and the generals can be supply units

interesting idea. so you'd put Generals as supply units, with low range. in this case, how would "normal" supply points's range be?

by the way, know what was the KuK fleet OOB in 1848 (in Venice) and in 1859 in Trieste and Pola?

If there aren't many units, event cycles could be used to put formations in fixed orders, though this tends to be heavy handed.

post your question on tdgs design forum..I know Jarek have simulated generals in his scenarios.. I´m playing one now and I think it works OK..But I think you have to use bio editor to succed...
