Thanks. Am I correct in assuming that, if I have the patch installed and my opponent hasn't, we can't play? :shy:

That's correct, I'm afraid. There are some changes like making helicopters less vulnerable that make it impossible to play with different versions.

Thx. :)
Guess I'll have to "persuade" all my opponents to patch too. :D
Hehe..it's a chain reaction..i thought i asked Heldenkaiser wether he wants to patch or not.. as we're in a PBEM.. then he wrote me that he has another opponent who hasn't patched yet, so he didn't patch yet, too..
Now..i have patched in the meantime...

I have d/l'd it and I will apply it.
If this were an "official" patch I wouldn't have hesitated. It's just that I had scruples to ask my other opponent to use a "beta". :shy:
Klar.. ging mir auch so..

... now don't seem to?
1. I can't turn of the intro screens. I mean I can, but the setting doesn't "stick".
2. Does the "go to next unit" button still work? In my BAOR 1990 game, I always get stuck with the hot spot on top of a certain German recon company bottom of the map.
Don't know if that's related to the patch ... but has anyone else noticed anything like that? Thanks. :shy:

You can. Just select the menu item View > Options > Intro Cinematic > Do Not Play. Then exit the game to save the changes. If you don't exit the game, it won't save the changes.

This is one of the problems with the way the patch was put together. Some of the .ini choices were still set to the experimental options were were working on. In this case, using Notepad, open your "Opart 3.ini" file and change "nextUsesOOBOrder=N" to "nextUsesOOBOrder=Y" then save the file.
Likewise with the Windows fonts. There are some problems with them, especially if you are using a DPI setting other than a standard 96. If you want to go back to the TOAW III bitmapped text displays, then using Notepad, open your "Opart 3 Fonts.ini" file and change the four lines that say "windowsFont=Y" to "windowsFont=N" and then save.
Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks a lot! That seems to have done the trick. While I was there, I also disabled the intro right in that file. That worked, too. :)
Thanks for the quick reply. :shy:

Is one of the problems with using Windows fonts is that they leave little scraps of the characters at the bottom of scrollable displays (like the scenario briefing). I believe the technical term for this effect is "schmutz"; less polite terms are sometimes also used. ;-)
Should I be concerned that, after patching 3.1.0.9 to 3.2.29.26, I didn't have either an Opart 3.ini or an OpArt 3 Fonts.ini? I didn't create them manually in the earlier versions, so if that's the reason, no big deal, I'll just create them now.

Actually that's the German word for "dirt" so I'd be interested in the "less polite" terms. :D

Is this patch finalised yet? I'm always a bit wary of loading anything calling itself a 'beta'.
Wyatt's using it, but two of my other opponents aren't yet, which makes it tricky.
Or is it still under development?

Still under development. THere have been some unexpected delays. I'm sure they'll have it out soon though. (Not a worry for us, as I still haven't had the time to get any turns out to anyone!!)
