... several people mentioned it. -- What's it about? Any great changes that we're waiting for? Thanks. :shy:
It should be out within the next few days. My recommendation is to plan to start this new workshop immediately after the Labor Day weekend.

Thanks! I'd primarily be interested in knowing what changes we can expect ... since we're waiting for it, they seem to be important? :shy:

Hei Dierk - There are some threads over at the Matrix forum, look for those beginning with 3.2 - they're in the main forum and five or so also in the scenario design subforum.

Thanks, Stefan. I found some threads there ... mainly about interface updates? Nothing that changes gameplay?
BTW someone mentioned "new flanking rules" on this forum a while ago ... what would that be about? Thanks. :shy:

Here you can find a detailed explanation of the new optional flanking rules by Bob Cross aka Curtis Lemay. There are more changes to gameplay, a new guerilla feature, helicopter behaviour is slightly changed and a lot of Elmer enhancements.

Thanks! That's very informative. :smoke:
I also think the new rule makes a lot of sense.

A beta version is now available; see further here:

Bottom line is, the "final" patch release won't happen for a week or two.
Veers, do we load the beta patch or wait for the "released" patch?

It's not my call to make, but just thought that I'd let you all know that a big reason that we pushed to release it early was to get this show on the road, before it stagnated. So, I would be disappointed if the scramble was in vain, and you all decided to wait...
Seriously, the main change between this "beta" release, and the official, public release, will be in the form of polishing - file cleanup, default ini file choices, documentation, etc. The core executable, and the major game play enhancements that are incorporated into the patch will all be the same.

Sorry about the poor typing, but I amtyping off my new laptop!! Just got it an hour ago, and wokring on gettingused to the new keyboard. Apparently it requires more pressure to hit the spacebar than my old one. And, to make it even sweeter, I am kilometres from home and logged in on someone else's wireless network! Happy day!
I want us to be all patched up and ready to go this Friday.

C'mon...you're Canadian. Blame the beer. Or Frances...
Watch out about logging on to somebody else's wireless network. Not only might it be illegal in your locale, but if you have unsecured shared folders you might end up catching something you don't really want.

I have all of my shared folders locked up tight. the legality of the move, however, is a good point. Though most ofthe networks I pop onto are likely to be of the coffee shop hot spot types, so I should be alright.
