WinSPMBT wide screen problems

I recently bought a wide screen monitor (16x9 ration). I have since discovered that I can only play WinSPMBT in the windows mode. Had I know this was a problem I never would have dropped $55.00 on the CD.
I did go to the other forums and it seems that the only solution in order to play is to play in window mode.

That is unacceptable to me. Is there a fix I am not aware of?
Are developers working on a solution? In a couple of years the wide screen will be the norm so maybe it should be a priority fix.

Probably should ask the developers about this instead of here. Maybe it's something they can fix when they start working on it again next year.

I agree it is unacceptable,don't understand how anybody would want to play in windowed mode,but I guess it must have its uses.

Jack, if you are getting the "IpDD->SetDisplayMode() failed, code 80004001" error I would check out the Shrapnel forums in particular this thread:

I play in Windows all the time, prevents having to alt-tab out.

Shouldn't be a problem, Jack - I play the cd in windowed mode all the time. It's not the little poxy window in the middle of the screen we had with the DL version - it's the full deal.

At the Game Options screen, choose whichever "Screen/Window Size" option works. (Sorry if you've already tried this, btw).

Thanks for posting John. As you can expect it's taking me longer to deploy than normal. If I can't resolve this problem, I can't see myself starting anymore games until it is resovled.
