View Full Version : Army HQ placements
Just started a Hotseat of Ea so I can get with familar with it before moving to pbem. On turn 1 as Axsis ---This is probably a stupid question.
I see that all units are free support so it shouldn't matter where I place my army HQ's -they will support any axis unit (correct??) Don't see them highlighted with their respective corps----Anyone have a good reference for the historic army placements at their respective fronts?? (obviously--I figured out the placements of AGN, AGC, & AGS) Other then the more known ones--6th army in south on east front (stalingrad-although can't remember where they were on case yellow--netherlands?)---Not to well read on the german oob.---just would like to have them operating in the area they were historically--any simple overview charts out there?

Any German HQ will support any unit.
The Axis minor HQs and units are more likely set on limited support, so they're HQ will not support other nation's units.

The Armies moved around a lot...
Also - cooperation is on a best-case basis. So although your Rumanian HQs will not help adjacent German units, your German HQs will help all units, including minors.
Thanks guys---first time having a real look at corps size scenario and was suprised to see all the HQ's steel highlighted together.
With the record of my ongoing pbem games right now (france 40 as axis looking like a WW1 broadfront slog fest, beating my head over & over against the smolensk line in barb 41, and bareley holding my own on defense in a few smaller scens) feel I'm ready to start taking over the world.:D

:laugh::laugh::laugh: Good luck!
B-snafu, a couple questions...
Can I ask about your sig? I'm trying to figure it out, but I'm not familiar with the quote, so I thought I'd ask you. Also - your user name. Snafu is fairy obvious :D , but what's the B for?
The B is just the first initial of my name Brian--and the the rest is just a reference to my game play:D. I had Registered at matrix and & wargamer & just wanted to keep a derivative of the same handle.
The sig quote & my avatar are from one of my favorite books--Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. (highly reccommend it) The exact quote goes something to the effect " and (so & so) still could not figure out how Milo was able to buy eggs at malta for 7 cents......." which pops up in various chapters throughout the book and is not answered until near the end. Lots of memorable quotes from that one.
