View Full Version : Can I buy a License?
OK looking for an another copy of DG. Could I buy someone old license or do I have to buy another copy from Norm. Just trying to save some money. It is a pity on cannot play MP games with a friend with my original copy
I always liked the Combat Mission series way of doing things. You could purchase and load the copy on as many machines as you wanted but could only join a MP without the original CD.

Your best bet is to just go and buy another copy, most here love this game and will not part with it.
This is the type of game that you can play over and over and have something new each time. So it does not get old like some do.

I agree with you ETF. I fully respect and understand the need for SES to have copy protection in place, but making me buy a second copy just so I can play the game against a human opponent on a 2nd machine in my own home is just really excessive. If you play a boardgame you're not forced to buy 2 copies.
My enthusiasm for this game has run out of steam a bit because playing against the AI gets dull. I have 2 computers at home in the same room, so playing other games that have CD copy protection is not an issue - I just swap the disks around. Occasionally another wargamer friend comes round and when they do it would be great to say to them 'hey try this brilliant naval wargame out'. SES might just find they make another sale that way. Unfortunately I'm not prepared to shell out the same money again, (and DG is not a cheap game), just for those occasions.
If there was some way of allowing the game to run as a LAN based client only I would be playing DG more.

Well it is truly a pity that it was setup this way. Guess I will have to buy another copy :(
Maybe Norm can code Jutland to allow a second copy to play only with the Host original copy??

Maybe it's time for another DG sale, like the one they had back in May!
