Get rid of the STANDARD rules?...

I have this trick seen time and time again where someone opens up the file in Standard.... Saves it.... Opens up the file in advanced.... and continues a PBEM game thus with NO units in disorganized mode as well as full supply throw....

CAN I HAVE A SHOW OF HANDS!!!!

How many of us play in standard mode?...

...Ok now just those past the age of 6!...
...Ok now just those who do not use this as a leverage!...

CAN we get rid of another loop hole in the system that does not need to exist!

Fixed. We want to leave a basic form of the game for those newbies that haven't much experience in wargaming, whether computer or boardgaming.

I still think a show of hands would have shown that 0.01% of anyone that uses this game system would never (or have never) used it...

...With it (should one feel the need), full supply throw, no units disorganized, full recon of the battlefield, no units feel weather effects, Target density is off, on & on & on... then you save the game and open it up in advanced before sending back your game file and one controls the game as if their opponent never had a chance...

IMO... This should have been canned years ago... I hope the fix truly SEPERATES the wading pool from the deep end!

I think you need to take a chill pill, mate. They said they fixed it. Certainly havng an option for those people less experienced isn't a bad thing. After all, the wargame niche needs new players all the time if it is to continue to exist.

Have you tried the advance level yet?

I was playing nice. I didn't think anything I said was inappropriate. There were certainly no personal attacks in my posts.
They said they fixed. No need to contiue to beat the dead horse (he says as he contiunes :laugh:).

EDIT: And now to change the subject: Did you get a chance to review my last emails in more detail, Shane? (I realize yer busy, but there's no harm in asking, eh?)

Another minor issue blown out of the water? I'm very picky about my PBEM
opponents - when I have the time to respond:paperbag:

How will this keep someone from opening up file standard while playing an advanced PBEM game?

You'll get a warning too.

if(security.play_mode==PBEM_MODE)
do_alert("PBEM Game","Rules can not|be changed in|PBEM games!",CONTINUE_STRING,"","","");
