View Full Version : Help Wanted!!
It's very obvious that I don't spend the time necessary or have the great new idea to spark interest here at GS. I've asked several individuals to help to no avail. Now I'm asking everyone enmasse, "HELP".
I volunteered to play the part of a part time moderator, a sidekick, not the main man. I'm going to put on the CMSF tourney and will eventually get my Korland tourney rolling.
Give me a PM or email with your ideas!;)

How about a post a pic of yourself and other pics that you have taken thread?
It's a bit off topic but could be fun....................

What sort of help do you need mate?
Gamesquad is pretty good just as it is, but here's my 2 cents -
1 -delete my entire "Spikes Combat Footage" thread in the AAR section, its looking terrible because there are a hell of a lot of red x's in there(blame Imageshack broken links, I use the more reliable Photobucket nowadays) and the thread is almost a year old anyway.
2 - Create a new sub-forum for war photos only.
That'll mean Gamesquad CM forum will consist of this general forum we're talking in now, plus 6 subforums -
AAR's
Opponents Wanted
Scenario Design
Tourneys
Tactical Talk
War photos
Later you could add a Shock Force subforum with various categories covering tactics, AAR's etc depending on whether the game becomes popular enough, the map certainly looks exciting enough -

If you are finding this to be a problem, you can just attach any images you have directly to the message in the future. You are limited to 12/message, but you can post unlimited messages.
Once they are posted, you can then use them like links. That way, your messages and images will be here forever.
Here's an example:

Mick, those are some good ideas you have there. I'll probably take you up on at least some of them.:D
The help I'm looking for is in Moderation. Stiring the pot, so to speak. I am willing to stay on and moderate some but we need a member who really wants to sink his teeth into this job. We also need to keep coming up with new tournaments (that I'm finding is ALOT of work). Purist started a totally fantastic operation with his SEALION but RL seemingly has taken him on the road. Some other tourney's are winding down and I think it would be good to initiate the planning of at least one more on top of my slowly developing Korland Battles. I do know of one member who has been working on a detailed tournament with a new scoring idea based upon maintaining minimum Morale at each turn. Hopefully more on this a little later this year.:surprise:
I've asked for some direction of Cyber Ranger but have yet to receive any type of reply. I want to start a second ladder just for CMSF. I also have the offer from VC to mind the ladder which can do some bizarre things at times and needs to be watched closely. I'm waiting for a reply from Cyber Ranger on that front as well.:(
I just sent the same questions to Don Maddux, maybe that will help.:)
In the meantime who among you is ready to asend the throne?????:cheeky:

I like that word 'forever'.. :)
But where must the link be, on my PC or at Photobucket?
Where do you keep your original Assemble.gif link?

I'd offer to run Gamesquad myself mate but I'm a stubborn s.o.b and I doubt if people would go along with my sweeping ideas to make GS the best CM forum on the net, I do things my way or not at all, or as the old saying goes - When you're in command, - COMMAND!

Look at my message and try it yourself.
1) Attach an image to your message
2) Place your mouse pointer over the attachment and do a right click
3) Copy the Link location (it will be to the GameSquad Server)
4) That's the link you use for your image when you place it between the and code tags

I'm not sure if anyone was asking for someone to run Gamesquad. I'm sure if you were a Mod here though you would certainly put a different slant on things. You do have some good ideas there though.

My ideas in all the forums I've been involved with have only scratched the surface because as an ordinary member i've only had limited powers..
The only solution would be to start my own CM club where I'm in complete command and could do things my way without interference.. :)
For example I'd create a string of fast-moving little tourneys, a simple uncluttered neat little ladder system, exciting subforums, quizzes, competitions, photo sections, video sections, special short knockout challenges and so on, and buy trophies and medals to award out of my own pocket.
In short, my club would not only look good but would also make members feel good by being in it, in much the same way as they'd feel good by being in an elite military unit under a strong commander..
However I know zilch about the techy side of forum-creating so I'm at a dead end, I'm a wargamer not a computer nerd.. ;)
No prob, Gamesquad is better than most CM clubs so in the meantime I'll be happy to donate some Shock Force tac screenshots here in due course.. :)

POS, you do know that Shockforce wont have tank fists. I imagine that it will be mostly small infantry units with a couple of vehicles thrown in.
Not to mention the PC specs needed to play it.
Apart from that, I look forwards to your screenies.
