WW2 Submarine War without US?

I thought about how the Submarine war would have gone if the USA would have not been directly involved into the war in Europe.

I read some books about the submarine war and my overall opinion is that the submarine war would not have changed much without the USA.

Can anyone confirm this oppinion or are there other opinions???

Well,considering that even before entering the war,they were escorting convoys in the west atlantic so the British didn't have to spread out their resources even further..i say it made some difference.
