G'day,

I've added 'American Front 1940' to the Downloads section here at Gamesquad.com. It's a World War 2 era scenario of a war between the Confederate States, British Empire and Mexico versus the United States. It follows on from 'American Front 1914', and assumes a US victory in the Great War of 1914-17. Reb P-40s and Brit Spitfires will tangle with US Thunderbolts over the Ohio River, while US B-17s bomb Richmond and Nashville. Tanks, paratroopers and close air support will add a whole new dimension to the 'Civil War'.

The scenario is at;

I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Cheers,

I will definiteley try it out, but it would be nice to do a version of the latest Harry Turtledove books - The Settling Accounts series - it describes an invasion of the USA by the CSA beginning in 22nd June 1941!!!

G'day,

I didn't really get into the 'Settling Accounts' series, which is why I didn't try to simulate it. 'American Front 1914' is pretty faithful to Turtledove's Great War series, which was the inspiration for that scenario. But I lost interest in the 'American Empire' and 'Settling Accounts' novels as the CSA=Nazi Germany comparison was a bit boring for me. Also, the CSA has no chance whatsoever against the USA, which makes for a one-sided scenario. American Front 1940 deviates from Turtledove's series substantially, but is still based on that alternate history timeline, as you'll find out when you read the player notes.

I hope you enjoy it all the same though.

Cheers.

I also agree that the Great War series is superior, but I read the rest of them mainly because I like a few of the characters and was wondering what would happen to them.

Anyway, I'll be starting your scenario this weekend.

Cheers and thanks for the hard work you surely must have put into it!!!
