I played TOAW back in the day and I've been toying with the possibility of buying this, but I do have a couple of questions.
I scanned the Matrix site but it's mostly high-level descriptions of changes.
It says an attack duration limiter was added. Does this mean that a maximum of X rounds will be burned in a given attack, no matter what?
Along with the limiter, I have seen a max rounds per turn mentioned. Does this work by limiting the player to X sets of attacks (assuming the player doesn't burn through all their rounds) per turn?
Has the supply-drain issue been addressed? Perhaps I should ask if the supply system has changed at all.
Have any of the above features been implemented in scenarios like 2 Weeks In Normandy, Europe Aflame, etc?
Are the hotkeys customizable?
How effective is WW2 era AAA?

The MRPB feature (Max Rounds Per Battle) is the "limiter", and it works by cutting off all combats at the end of the nth round of combat, as entered in the Scenario Editor for the scenario. The stock scenarios, by and large, have not been adjusted to take advantage of this feature, as it is mostly a matter of preference. Some designers who have submitted post-release scenarios (or revisions) in the patches have in fact taken advantage of the feature and have already set what they feel to be an appropriate value. However, the final decision is that of the players, as they can edit the scenario before play and choose whatever setting they desire.

The supply system has not undergone any changes at this time.

I posted a version of Two Weeks in Normandy that had a 3 MRPB setting, and some other minor changes, and which was used for a tournament at this site. You can check the Europe Aflame sub-forum on this site, as well, for up to date news on the progress that is being made in utilizing the new features of TOAW III.
Are the hotkeys customizable?
Not customizable, but several new ones were added, along with a menagerie of other UI tweaks. They are rather comprehensive.

You'll see a lot more losses to air units than previous editions of TOAW.

If for no other reason, go head on just to play BoonieRat's and Silvansky's PO only scenarios, which take advantage of the new 'Elmer' and make Toaw 3 feel like a whole new game. :yummy:
It's the future, eh? :clown:

I think the reason more of us have not spoken up about suggesting you buy the game is laziness and not a sign of the popularityof the new version. I would definately put the money in to purchase the game.
Personally I think the MRPB feature (which, it looks like, I will implement in EA), the ability to easily find entrained units across monster maps, and the promise of continued development (which Matrix, Ralph, and James are continuing to deliver on) were good enough reasons to get the game.

Veers: is there a special hot-key for this or are you just using 'n' after selection of an entrained unit? A separate key would be neat, eh?

The period, the dot..whatever you call it. Hit it, get the first entrained unit, hit it again and disembark it, hit it once again and go the next entrained unit.

How very odd...I wrote up a response to that earlier today, and, so I thought, posted it. Apparently, I was wrong...Thanks for filling in, Stefan.
