Not sure if this has been posted up before (I think I saw some Youtube footage of the same film a while back on here) but you can now get a full DVD copy of the Japanese war epic 'Nihonkai Daikaisen', or 'Battle in the Sea of Japan' online. This is the one made in 1969 by director Seiji Maruyama and stars Toshiro Mifune as Admiral Togo. It covers the whole RJW war inc. Port Arthur, but finishes with a fairly epic Battle of Tsushima. Only $10 and he ships free worldwide! Quite a few people on The Warship Discussion Forums have received copies and rate it highly.

Just got my DVD in the post today and very pleased with it. The playback quality is very high, pretty much as it was originally seen on the big screen I would say. They clearly put a lot of money into this film and it is very much in the style of the old big budget hollywood blockbuster. I can thoroughly recommend the seller and the product if anyone was sitting on the fence thinking this would be a poor quality copy. Here are some screencaps from the Tsushima and other battles

Damn, that looks SWEET!!! I gotta get this!

Problem is, I can't get it from the same place you linked above. Just went there, and there's a message saying the guy's on extended and indefinite vactions starting 6 June. He says he MAY be back in September....

Guess I'll have to look elsewhere. Thanks for the tip, though ;).

I've found the DVD at several other places, but unfortunately it only seems available for Region Code 2, which ain't good for US DVD players. I've heard there are work-arounds for this problem, however.....
