WARSHIP DVD SERIES (http://www.periscopefilm.com/warhshipdvds.html)
Iam wondering if someone knows these. If yes, are they worth the money?
Old footage is about as common as rain for the most part.
I have never seen those "items" but I have likely watched the footage a dozen times.
What that implies, is those dvds are likely the same old repackaged footage concept that is fairly common. The only thing you get with over specialised marketing, is not air war, or land war element for the most part in the item.
At 20 bucks, I am inclined to say they are likely ok until you remember, shipping handling, taxes, and before you know it, you probably paid 40 instead of the 19.99 you initially thought they would be.
And for 40 bucks, why not get real, and buy a named series that maybe doesn't fixate on just naval warfare, but still, will mention it properly, and in the process, for maybe the cost of a couple of purchases, instead of just one, gives you an entire time period naval included.
Of course, the burden of being a collector, is in the "sucking it up" and spending the money for those not so common releases.
After looking at the included video, yes, purchase a better set. The second they cram in WW1 all the way through to modern, you just bought yet another generic, "could have seen it on History channel" series.
If you want to watch WW2 naval, get the Victory at Sea series. It's both a famous series, and likely costs about the same, and it's only WW2.
