View Full Version : The new patch is out!!!
I just checked the HPS website and they have the new patch "DA203b" posted. There is a problem with the link (as usual). When I first tried to download the patch, it only downloaded the old patch, "DA203". I then tried it again and manually inserted the "b" into the file name (ie "DA203b") and it worked. I have yet to try it out. Just wanted to let you know.

Did you report the link problem to Jim or Scott? Thanks for the heads up.

Is there a list that explains what changes have been made since version 2.03?

I don't see one. There did not appear to be a list inside the update.
I tested the patch, it appears to be the previous version, 2.03 from March and not a valid update.
I’ve just sent off a quick email to Scott.

If you read my first post, the link directs you to the old patch. If you manually select "DA203b" by adding the "b" into the file name you can download the new patch. It is a different patch. I can tell because it corrected the bomber problem. However, it does not correct the problem of being able to insert the OPORD into the scenario in the editor (or I can see it).
I too have sent an e-mail to Scott regarding the disdirected link.
I followed your instructions and downloaded the update, but when I unzipped it into a separate folder to check it I found the exe file identical to the last patch exe. Exactly same size 4.61 MB and same date 17 March 2004. Something’s not right somewhere
Have you noted any other changes apart from the bomber problem?
Mine is different. The DA.exe is dated 4/7 and is 4.74 MB. I tried to download it again and got the new patch again. Don't know what you are doing? Are you sure you are changing the file which you are downloading from "DA203.exe" to "DA203b.exe"?
I must be doing something wrong
I’ll download again and let you know if I still get a problem.
Thanks
Same problem again.:argh:
It looks as though I’ll have to await for the new link to be fixed unless you could kindly send me the file if it’s not too large? :cheeky:
It’s nearly 0100 here so I’m off to my bed, cheers for trying to help.
XRay,
Hopefully it will be fixed in the morning. I just received an e-mail from Rich ar HPS thanking me for pointing out the problem. He stated that he will have it fixed. If it is not. Let me know by the morning and I will e-mail you the file before I go to work.
Link remains faulty this morning, so if this catches you before you leave for work I’d appreciate a copy of the file.
Thanks for your help and have a nice day :)

XRay, You will have to send me your e-mail. It is not listed and you have the "send e-mail" function disabled. cbelva

What exactly is the problem with the OPORD? What is it that is going wrong?

Before patch 2.03 there was a location on the scenario creation screen to insert an OPORD. I noticed that it was missing when Col Lunsford first released the new patch last month. I wrote him and he replied that he accidentally left it out and would reinstall it in the updated patch. It does not appear to be there unless he redesigned how to do it. Anyway, I cannot find it. You should be able to go into the scenario text file and insert it manually, which I plan on doing with a scenario I am creating.
How can these people be so amateurish?
The whole site is a mess. Patches are not under downloads to start from, there is no link from the DA page. What gives?
The correct f...ing direct link is
http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/updates/up_DA/DA203b.exe
The correct MD5 checksums are:
203:
MD5(../DA.exe)= 72f0e6f66dd0fcec0a37ae0c35d7daa0
203b:
MD5(DA.exe)= b49cee8c73fb03850833004c1d73c0c1

Yes, the HPS website seeds some serious work.
The link to the latest update is working correctly now.
There is no update list included with the patch does anyone know if one exist anywhere? :(

This is from the mailing list:
A player just discovered a bug that cashes the game. It?s fixed now and
I?ll post another .exe on the HPS Sims downloads site next week. For
now though, you must plot route for every AH unit whose attack you link
to a NAI. If you don?t plot a route for the AH unit and its attack is
triggered it will flew off the map, crashing the program.

I also like this, from the readme.
"3. Create a new folder called "AAR". This is required for the game to run properly."
Does HPS have anybody who can build a zipfile with a directory in it?

My understanding is that the bug that caused the helicopter problem is now fixed in this version. The post you quoted was from a while back.
