More details added to the 1st post in the thread.
No enemy contact on the first turn...
one company going south, other company going north both on a outflanking manoever. Have ploted mortor fire onto expected enemy positions.
CONTACT !!!!
One enemy platoon spotted in the norther outskits of the city.
Enganged by 2 platoons. Reports indicate of 5, repeat 5 enemy casulties and NO friendly casulties.
Further indications are that the enemy platoon is routed and retreating.
Concerns our that enemy will now know several of our positions.
No contact.
Troops in north advancing, no furthe contact.
60mm smoke has impacted, mixed with HE.
Southern troops continue the wide ouflanking manoeuver, though progress is slow due to terrain.
Still no further contact with the enemy.
Slow progress still on southern side, but no resistance or enemy contact met.
First squad about to enter city perimeter, rest of forces continuing advance. If only we had transport, it is a long slog.
Expect photo reconnaissance next turn :)
Troops are now entering the northern perimeter.
Still no fire exchanged.
CONTACT! infantry squads on the southern flank have identified warrior vehicles! Are pre-positioning BMP and other AFVs to engage.
Find attached two latest photos of the area. A "zoomed out" overall view and a view of our troops on the Northern perimeter.
Turn 5 photo of the warrior vehicles on the southern flank
Ouch, Lost contact with Warriors, unfortunately, my BMP was hit and detroyed at range by a hidden M60!
Will now sit tight on the southern flank until my armor arrives.
Have spotted more enemy forces on the central frontline in one of the houses. Engaged and caused one casulty, no casulties on the rebel side.
One the northern flank, engaged the retreating enemy squad and destoryed them.
I am concerned that enemy forces may be outflanking me to the north, particularly if they are motorized.
Attached is the sceen for the sighted enemy troops and my destroyed bmp :(
Woooooooooosh.
Incomming air, Mirage F1C. Attacked some infantry using cannon and small bombs. Only one casulty. On the northern flank, I have the Mayors office in site, I stumbled upon another squad of UN and they inflicted 3 casulties :(
On the south, I spotted another enemy squad, inflicting ONE casulty at distance, they responded by inflicting one casulty.
No further contact with the enemy armor.
Sorry no aerial photo, bad cloud cover ;) ( I forgot!)
Bad cloud cover, so no aerial photo. Shold be clear next time.
I have eliminated another UN squad on their front line, my troops hit by thre mirage have still not rallied, and the squad engaged by the enemy at the mayors office took bad casulties and is retreating.
No further contact with enemy armor.
I should be able to make a more heavy assult on the mayors office next turn.
One UN squad spotted on the south, no fire exchanged. Another Mirage attack, unfortunately immobilising one of the tanks!!! It was just bad look that it was in his flight path I believe.
No photo again, seemed tocrash the game?!
Spotted further UN troops and inflicted several losses, no losses to report on the rebel side.
Troops are now very close to the centre of the city (Mayors office)
The mirage attacked the mobilised tank again. Should I bail out the crew next turn to save them?
I have attached the latest recon photos
Ouch, A warrior hit and destoryed the final remaining BMP! the crew bailed out. I cannot seem to locate the enemy AFV`s
Enemy seems to be retreating and laying smoke from their infantry squads
Looks as I got the turn numbers wrong....
I couldn`t re play the Un turn, but I have spotted the M60 on the south.
No further exchange of fire.
It seems I have dispersed 2 squads, where the Un has inflicted approx 12 casulties and destroyed the 2 BMP.
See last photo attached. Hopefully I have inflicted enough to indicate that the zone is ours. I certainly control the town.

It looks ok to me, you definately have control, but i think we have to kick the UN out of the zone before we can resupply from there (?) Anyway we have Zone A so w will be able to send reinforcements to that position, i think we can expect an attack there from the Gov side next turn, but i think it is holdable.

After a hard fought battle with the defending and dug in UN Forces the Mayor's office was finally taken. Even repeated straffing by a UN piloted Mirage jet could not stop the RED advance. As night began to fall the remaining UN Forces evacuated the outlying buildings and began to fall back to the NorthEast along the main highway leading to Zone I.
Among the RED losses were the 2 BMP-R's of 2nd Recon. The few infantry casualties were immediately filled by eager local volunteers.
Both Rebel and UN Forces are still active in the zone!
