View Full Version : List of Clubs
I am putting together a list of all CM clubs and websites here at Gamesquad. I am asking members of any CM 'collective' to drop me a PM. In the PM please list the name, web address, and a brief paragraph of what your club's goals are.
If there is already such a list (partial or full) on another site please let me know that too.
Thanks! Bertram

A popular CM site with this stated mission:
This club is intended as a place for players to come together and do battle in the spirit of fun competition. Its not about winning or losing but having a good time and making friends with other players. This club is to be about mutual respect and sportsmanship. I want the members of this club to feel assured that if they start a game with a fellow member that their opponent will stick around for the duration. We always have tournaments running and in the works so if you join up it will only be a short time before you may sign up and participate in one. Many of our members have stepped up to run their own special competitions that adds to the fun and flavor of the club. Then there are the campaign games and it looks like we'll have two or three running at the same time. They range from around a dozen players to over thirty.

Possibly the first CM site? A ton of archived information and forums set up for finding opponents. There are threads dating back to 2003 and a search feature for investigating most any question you might have.
Battlefront.com (http://www.battlefront.com/index.htm)
A quote from their website:
Since February 1999, we've gathered from all corners of the planet to this oasis called "The Blitz" to utilize our computers and the software loaded on them to wargame with others, discuss historic battles, and test our mettle against others through the internet. Many of us have searched in vain for years to find others to game with us or discuss a certain aspect of history that fascinated us. Now, we have a community to gather at. We can battle across the electronic battlefieds of history amongst ourselves and with other "club's" on the internet. In doing so, we have and will thoroughly enjoy ourselves.
Over the course of that time since we first opened a website, many of us have developed lasting friendships and comrades within this community. We come from North America, Europe, Australia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and many points in between. On occasion, some of us travel thousands of miles to meet our distant comrades in fellowship.
So, if you are up to the challenge of pushing your electronic soldiers across the battlefield via Play By E-Mail (PBEM) or Online wargames, come join us. We are a group of avid wargamers and wanna-be historians that have banded together to help rookies get started, connect the regulars to other opponents, and honor the hardcore wargamers.. This website is a community of common interest that centers around comraderie, history, and wargaming... A combination we LOVE!!!
Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club (http://www.theblitz.org/)
A quote from their site:
Membership to the FGM is for those members of the Blitz community who pride themselves on being active and dependable in tournaments and special events or activities. FGM gives to the Blitz community by providing these contests and activities with players who are committed to follow through and finish. Members are expected to be active in FGM events in order to ensure the competitivness level is not diminished by non committed personnel.
Currently we are running or involved in:-
DOMINATION - A RISK style game.
DOMINATION OSTFRONT - As above but based on the Eastern Front.
BOCAGE - A 4v4 team game set in amongst the hedgerows of Normandy.
TANK ACE - Tank only combat set in a league format.
KING OF THE CASTLE - An ongoing competition to see who can retain the Throne for the longest.
FIX BAYONETS - Infantry only CQB (Close Quarter Battle).
CLAN WARS - Two on the go at the minute against Russian and French opposition.
CMHQ:PL INVITATIONAL - A knock out competition hosted by our Polish brothers.
FGM FIGHT CLUB - A variation of KOTC.
As you can see we are very active and this is why we need committed members who are very active also.

The Global Combat Mission Board - Home (http://cmglobal.proboards59.com/index.cgi)
The World at War (WaW) is a relatively new Wargaming Community that caters for a variety of games as well as Combat Mission. World at War is a site for wargaming (Steel Panthers, Combat Mission, War in the Pacific and others) and history, especially of the Second World War.
Designed from the bottom up to be a very modern site it has a new look with many interesting and innovative features for a CM site. Here you will find a wealth of statistics about you and your opponents. Just a couple of the new and innovative tools available to you here are the ability to register games started against opponents for ease of tracking and the facility to keep your own private war diary of screenshots and After Action Report notes on these games as you play them for easy reference.
Within WaW roosts the FraGMent CM Community (FGM). This Community is made up of members from every CM Club and Community on the Web. No games need to be registered at WaW to join the FraGMent Community.
If you are interested in joining remember the site is also available in several languages.
