View Full Version : Tech ? - Can not display place names

I just bought a new CPU (contains a GFORCE 4600 128MB Video card) For some reason I can not get the names of towns and rivers to display. Everything else displays normally and yes I checked the Views menu - they should be on. I do not think it is the video card as I am having no other problems. Is there a font setting or something that may be messing things up?

While I am asking boring TECH questions - what is the best way to print out print screens? I am traveling tomorrow for a couple of days and would like to get the front lines (East Front) printed out so I can mull my strategy over in the hotel room.

Any comments/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you the latset patch? It should be 1.04.
You have a new computer so you can go into archive. create map tga. The file is very big. Open up image program, for example photoshop and the set the image size into what you want. Save as jpg or print out.

Yuo can also make screen dump by pressing print screen button..and then copy it into a word program and the print....

Thanks for the response. I used the 1.03 patch as I was not sure I had DirectX8 (although now that I think of it that was dumb as most likely I do). Anyway, are you saying that the place name visibility was an issue fixed by the 1.04 patch? If so, can I just unzip the patch and it will override the previous patch or should I reinstall and then unzip the 1.04 patch?

Will try the print screen.

Yes. 1.04 should fix the display name problem. It's nonappearance under NT based OSes (inc 2k and xp) is due to an api call not working the same way under them as in 9x, 1.04 contains a workaround that Norm managed to find.
