I have a few questions about the ACR that is modelled in the game. It has a combat power of 64, which is considerable. What exactly does this RCP include? Is this including the regimental artillery support in that strength? What about the 4th squadron (the aviation assets), is this in there too?

Most likely it IS including everything in an ACR, but there is no IF or Air assets to be manuevered,...it's jast an all inclusive ACR.

You must realize that the DA default weapons database was made years ago,...long before the changes that you see today. So, as people start to use the weapons editor and we create new databases to more accurately reflect current equipment and formations, I'm sure we'll be seeing great new weapon sets!

After taking another look at the numbers it seems clear that an RCP of 64 must be an attempt to include the artillery and aviation, which doesn't make much sense. Adding theire firepower in this way is highly unrealistic as they operate in a completely different fashion than the normal ground squadrons. The only way I see to accurately model this is to either combine the ground squadrons into a single entity with the artillery and aviation as separate units, or create individual units for each battlion-sized element in the regiment (this option is more work and means more units to manage, but is probably more realistic).

I agree, and that is how we build units for our exercises. Again, the database was made a LONG time ago, and long before helo's and arty had the oomph they do now.

Okay, I can see I'm basically going to have to adjust all the RCP's as needed. The particular OOB I'm working onm is circa 1990, so most US Army weapons systems were less effective then. Even taking that into account there are some weird entries in the default database. I'll see if I can come up with something better.

Thanks for the help.
