Every machine has a "popular" game thought to be it's best.
So the question is, on your platform of choice (that means anything that runs a game by the way), what is your machine's "best" game?
While I have a PC and could mention PC titles, really, right now my platform of amusement is my Nintendo DS. And I am going to pick Age of Empires: Age of Kings.
But I have only had exposure to a small list of titles.
Still, even though I bought the DS for an as yet unreleased Panzer Tactics, I am completely amused with playing Age of Empires: Age of Kings.
It plays easily, yet it plays indefinitely ie I don't expect to get bored any time soon. Granted, unlike some gamers, I don't play the thing daily till the battery runs out either hehe. It has a long list of maps, and options to play in battle mode, and it has several campaigns to challenge you at differing difficulties.
It has a lot of goodies you can unlock to get even more battles including new units and new maps. And every time you unlock a unit or map, you have adjusted all the variables to a point.
And of course you can play against others.
The AI player seems an alright challenge, but eventually I have found easy is the same as hard in some ways :)
I have stuck playing just my one favourite leader, but I assume the other ones have some neat aspects too.
Man, I just wish the more game makers would see, that turn based wargames (that's really what Age of Empires is) are very doable on a hand held. And if they actually made enough of them, we wargamers would surely flock to them (currently most wargamers seem to think only the PC can do a wargame right).
Anyway, your turn now guys. Rant on about you machine's "best" game.
Why did you pick it for nomination eh.
