View Full Version : Outside Support
Double Deuce

To add some flavour to this campaign I am considering adding another nation to have them supporting the Rebels from outside. They would provide additional equipment and probably actual forces (mercenaries). Perhaps some Russian Special Forces.
Sounds good to me :)
I`m sure theres lots of potential to include some nice (and not so nice  ) surprises for all side involved ;)
yes sounds very good. and very realistic, these things usually dont go unaided by some outside influence.
Good Morning All,
I certainly like it, especially with Russian Spec Forces! I am here now, you can count on me!

DD i want to verify some rules with you, is it right that the UN can attack the forces in the Cities where they have been kicked out of? If this is so what about abandoned cities, especially where a truce was involved? If the UN abandons a city and the rebels move in to keep law and order, especially in these troubled times as bandits prowl the countryside, i do not think they should have the ability to counter attack that city.
What are your thoughts on this?

The UN is supposed to maintain control of the towns and that is part of the UN Resolution and their Victory Conditions.
If they are kicked out they will need to attempt to retake the town.
If they temporarily abandon a town (due to truce or whatever) they will need to re-occupy it if they wish to achieve their long term Campaign Objectives. This may require further negotiations to have the other force either peacefully leave the town/zone or eject them by force.
Could we have some outside support now? I think given our situation it is high time our "big brother" give us some support...
Can we get some kind of support? Russian paras or specnaz, for example? We really need them now, these are the decisive weeks of the campaign!

Maybe some Surface to Air Missiles, covertly obtained of course! It cannot be personnel (hard to explain to the World Community if anyone is captured) but materials are another thing, harder to trace back to the source.
Modern RPGs and ATGMs would be the most valuable against UN troops. Some MANPADS would work well also. Maybe Chinese, Pakistani,Iranian stuff? They sell everything to everyone. China is also "communist" as we are.

Sympathizers inside the Chinese military have authorized some Anti-Air assets to be smuggled in to support your cause. Before the 2 small fishing boats can land on the Northern coast one of them is intercepted by UN warships patrolling in the area. The other one gets through and the following is delivered into Zone G. You recieve;
...x3 Hong Ying 5 Team
These units can be allocated to forces in Zone G and /or those going into Zone C however you would like. They WILL be able to particpate this OP Turn just tell me what you what n what Zone.
Give two of them to the southern troops in G, one of them to the eastern troops in G.

Hmm, perhaps spreading our air cover may be advisable? Looking at the starts, 110 accuracy with 4 shots each. I imagine that one would cover the possable air attacks.
Remember, dispersing units where ever possable to avoid unrequired casaulties to bombing runs.
No, they are only doing a recon in force against UN mech. units. I think UN air assets will be used in A or in N, depending on whether they have an active or passive stance. I do not want to risk these precious units in a ground fight. If the road to A is cleared, we will reinforce the town next turn.
Fair enough.... Hopefully the enemy air umbrella has overlooked that sector.
I am sure they did, I dont think they expected us to move there, they expected us to pursue the enemy to East.
