Is there going to be an additiona patch any time soon? If so, what's going to be in it? Does anyone know what the plan for DA is after that?

Hopefully Jim Lunsford will reply here soon, but, in case he doesn't, here's my take on things:

We just completed a Division-Level exercise here, and DA was used exclusively to provide a graphic repreentation of a fairly large-scale fight. We had a few problems with the software, and a few hardware issues, and there have been fixes made. The thing is, these problems are directly related to massive-multiplayer online use, and not the Blue Player vs Red Computer type gaming you are, for the most part, interested in.

Jim may release a general patch soon, but the current version is very stable for the casual gamer.

I doubt Jim will abandon his fans. DA can be a wicked-awesome fun time!

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering the same thing. The new patch is more stable, but there is still two problems that I know of that needs to be corrected. The ability to insert the opord into the scenario editor was removed, and the IA uses bombers exclusively in attacking (even when there are not suppose to have them in the scenario). This is really a show stopper since bombers are so much more powerful. I did get a reply that Col Lunsford put the OPORD editor back in, but I have not heard anything ref the bomber even tho I have reported it to him twice.

This was on the DA mailing list March 25:

A player just discovered a bug that cashes the game. It?s fixed now and
I?ll post another .exe on the HPS Sims downloads site next week. For
now though, you must plot route for every AH unit whose attack you link
to a NAI. If you don?t plot a route for the AH unit and its attack is
triggered it will flew off the map, crashing the program.

The bloddy yahoo group refuses my mail (I can mail everything else in yahoo, go figure) so I can't ask for a status.

I will update the patch this weekend so that everyone can take advantage of the bugs that we squashed during the CGSC exercise. I will notify the group when it is posted.
