View Full Version : Favourite Console
So wats your favourite console im not just talking about the new ones
but i have a psp and xbox 360 and wii and i have to see my wii and 360 are both pretty amazing but i think 360 edges the wii because all of the technical qualities
im not sure if a favourite console thread has been made but if it has my apologies;)
N64. My favourite. Fun games, but of course not as many as most other products. I still use it with friends.
Otherwise I've looked at the Wii, and from all the new generation consoles I like it best. It's just that I think what the others do is better served with a PC, and for the prices they take you can also upgrade (at least some) parts of yours.
The Wii is for me the only one offwering stuff I can't (yet?) have with my PC.
My favourite of this generation is the 360 so far, but my PS3 isn't here yet so who knows? I'm a bit disapointed in the Wii, but that'll be rectified once some more top quality games start coming out for it.
My favourite console of all time however, would have to be either the SNES or the Neo-Geo, I can't decide. The SNES has some of my all time gaming favourites on it like Super Castlevania IV, Super Mario World, Super Probotector, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Seiken Densetsu 3, Tales of Phantasia, Terranigma and Link to the Past but the Neo-Geo has the best collection of 2d fighters on any console (until SNK ported them all to the PS2) such as King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, Art of Fighting and one of my favourite 2d fighter of all time Last Blade. Actually, I guess the PS2 is my favourite console as not only does it have all the SNK fighters, but it has Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - the best 2d fighter ever created - plus a whole boat load of JRPGs.
I'll have to say the PS2...but it wasn't an easy decision...SNES was up there.
I don't consider hand helds consoles, but as you allowed the DS a vote, I picked it.

I would probably say PlayStation 2 at the moment. Sure, the original PlayStation was the console that got me into playing games but I can play (almost) all of my old PlayStation games on my PS2 plus a bunch of great PS2 games to boot. Though saying that I have been playing my PSP more than my PS2 for a long time.
However I only have a handful of Gamecube games and I have never owned an Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii or DS and the PS3 isn't even out yet over here so I guess what I have posted is pretty invalid anyway, I may have another favourite if I broadened my horizons (and opened my wallet more often).
ps3 didnt come out yet?why des everything come out later in the uk

Quite simply because North America is the largest market for videogaming and Japan is the home market for many videogame companies such as Sony. Due to limited supplies of the PlayStation 3, Sony prioritised their main markets.
As far as videogame releases go I have no idea, especially considering how videogames released in North America are in English, the language that people in the UK speak. It can't take that long to convert videogames into the PAL format and set up servers for online play surely?
with the new technology we have you would think not wouldnt you?;)
