View Full Version : Fighting of Civ 4
I`ve always played Civ since Civ 1. My wife could never understand how I could play such a "boring" game for hours at a time.
Anyway, fast forward several versions to Civ 4 and I`m still playing, and my wife is still saying..."why are you playing this? What is the fascination in it?
So I spent a evening showing her the basics whilst I played.......
And here I am, two months later waiting to play my next game of Civ!!!!
I can`t get onto the game, let alone the PC to play another game. Needless to say, she is doing quote well, but unable to master "Noble" level.
PS I do manage to get on the PC to play my email Steel panthers games....;)

I'd say it's time to take her on in a multiplayer game.

Only one solution man, buy an other PC and engage the fight with her.
No diplomacy, deathmatch to prove her man superiority :D
Good luck

LoL
Thats is starting to become a serious option !!!
Though even with my wifes new found addiction I don`t think I can persuade her to let me get another PC!!!!
Has she even played Heroes of Might and Magic?
Just wondering if she could take your Steel Panthers time too hehe.
Did you convince her of the need for a 2nd pc? Good ones are cheap enough that the cost would be worth it to avoid marital strife, except for the first time one backstabs the other in MP.
I mentioned another PC/laptop, no way....:upset:
That said, when I mentioned the multplayer possibilities.....:)
"Heroes of Might and Magic"-- Blimey, I`ve learnt my lesson on this one...Not showing her any other games I think she might like.
Hope she doesn`t realise I`ve got the Monkey Island games and Grim Fandango installed still ;)

Dita ,
Could you reach some kind of diplomatic solution where both of you "share" quaility PC time, maybe alternate or whatnot?
Hi,
Sharing is the only option. But PC time in the house is now at a premium, between me, eldest daughter, youngest daughter and the wife!! Actually getting on the PC is a challenge in itself.
I`ve started a hotseat multiplayer with my wife, under the provision I don`t declare war of her :)
Wife is currently arguing with the youngest daughter as her viva piniata garden is far superior to the wifes (on xbox360) :)
