4 Senario Tournament

All those interested in being part please state you want in.

This tournament is short and sweet, made up of 4 common senarios which will be listed below. Pairing up will be random and each player will have to play each senario...the winner will be the person with the largest number of points. The choice of axis or allies will also be random. We want to keep this simple and short. There are alot of long tournies in progress already along with Operation Sealion. It does not matter how many times you played these in the past , or if you never played them. You can study till your hearts content if you wish. More later and here is the list.

As the CoG tourney seems to have ground to a halt and I'm currently a reserve without portfolio in Operation Sealion I'll give this a go.. I'm not familiar with these scenarios, are they CMBB or CMAK?

RULE # 1: Have Fun
RULE # 2: 2054172 will only play the games when there are not enough players advailable. Therefore avoiding byes. He does not earn a point total.
RULE # 3: Victory points in a game are most important. All points earned are cummulative...therefore if you faired poorly in one senario you may still place well over all.
RULE # 4: Player may or already have played these senarios it does not matter.
RULE # 5 : The fastest file turn around time is expected.
RULE # 6 : Medals will be awarded if a player finishes the tourney.
RULE # 7 : Each player must finish all four senarios in each tourney that player is envolved in.(CMAK &/or CMBB) New players will not be added in the tournament once it has started.

If there are any questions /suggestions/ or concerns please state them now the start date is moving up to February 17, 2007 0r sooner.

Look to the tournament page...who your up against and in what scenarios is now official......You may play the same person more then once and be allies more the axis during this tournament....but that gentlemen was the roll of the dice literally. Everything was done randomly in this selection process....there will be no changes!:hush:

I am wondering what you guys would like to see......one scenario at a time or play as many as you wish all at once. This would speed things up if all were open to be played at once. If one was to play the same player in more then one scenario then you could play two saving time. Let me know how you feel about this I will go with majority rules. or I will make ruling:smoke:

No changes to the opponents...I did say you might play the same guy twice or be the axis more then the allies....all the slections were done randomly, believe it or not I rolled dice to be as fair to each as possible. Seeing that you guys are both even in battling each other this may be the time to see who is the better. My first game, Perano is slow going at the moment; although he's hammering the village with Arty.
Game 2 is straight into the action, i got his Stuart but he took out my PzIV, we are 50-50 according to the game so it could go either way. I'm still waiting for his Counter attack at the mo!

If Petracholi Ridge went any longer, I would have been pushed off the map. Losing my 105 Stug, because it didn't have turret was the turning point. The 105 Sherman was able to adjust quicker, and start pummeling my troops.

In Tally Ho, my 88 and FGs made mincemeat of my opponent's tanks. The 88 got three, the FJs also got three.

Perano is still progressing slowly, and have yet to start Spaghetti Western.

I got lucky on Petrarcholi Ridge when my Sherman 105 beat Iron Mike's StuG to the draw, this left him without armour support for the last quarter of the game. The game itself ended 2 turns early with an auto-surrender of the German troops, although, and this puzzled me a bit, after the 'surrender' he still held a flag and his troops hadn't actually surrendered.. because of this I only achieved a minor victory :freak:

That was still a good result compared against my performance in Spaghetti Western when for reasons I can't explain I thought it was an A/D scenario rather than an ME. Because of this I advanced slowly and cautiously and let my opponent take the main buildings at his leisure, I was therefore at a disadvantage in numbers trying to dislodge him subsequently. I did manage to kill quite a few of his infantry and several HTs but never got close to his armour or the main flag. :upset:

I'm still waiting to hear from Mangus (still playing?) and Bertram.

JML and I had a double header! First up was Tally Ho, a bizzare scenario to be sure. I had the Allies and JML the Axis. JML took me down with a Minor Victory. In round two we played Petrarcholi Ridge. JML quickly killed 2/3 armor pieces leaving me with a Stug and not much ammo. I managed to kill his all his armor before the end but he held the center flag and we had to settle for a DRAW!

I reckon every Allied player who lost must have tried to go through the town; when I tried that tactic originally (against the AI, long before this tourney was announced) I also lost badly. Going the long way round via the cornfields seemed an obvious way of 1. following the scenario orders (in brief: don't stop, kill anything that gets in your way); and 2. avoiding the 88 in the woods. I lost one Sherman & crew to a faust/schrek, the others exited the map safely.

I was a bit gobsmacked to get a Total Victory out of it though :eek:

We are just about to wrap up. It looks good for the defense, but anything can happen.

We're done.

It was touch and go for the German defenders in the mid-game. My opponent made a rush with his flanking forces, which my defenders could not contain. We did take out oe Sherman, but the other two took out a Pz IV, an ATG, and what infantry there was covereing the back road. All except the Platoon HQ. Who, taking a position at the top of the flanking ridge, was able to report on the position of the Sherman's that got past our roadblock.

My defenders retty much maitained the default starting setups. I made some adjustments, finetuning some positions to improve LOS. The result was a 75MM ATG on a hilltop that spent the better part of the game picking off Shermans, at distance. Once the Allies crossed the river, on my left, the ATG moved down the slope to a secondary prepared position to better cover that approach.

Once my opponent crossed the river, I thought I was toast. I knew I was greatly outnumberd, and had already lost two-thirds of my armor and an ATG. They seemed to get bottled up by the barbed wire road block, some HMG fire, and the hilltop ATG. It is possible he thougth I had more armor, and was being cautious. His infantry was trying to probe my left flank, but did not get past my roadblock.

I spent the end-game jockeying my remaining Stug to keep covered on the flank, while retaining civerage of the roadblock. As it turned out, the Sherman on my flank had a damaged gun, and was essentially toothless. My remaining Mk IV kept watch down the main street of the ville, covering the flags at the left end of town.

When all was said and done, I would say 80% of my infantry never engaged the enemy. The biggest shock of the game, was to discover my oponent had not engaged three 16Pdr FOs. If he had, it would have been a much different game.

Isaac, I salute you for a game well played. I was never sure of the outcome, until the last few turns. Even then, I was afraid a final rush of armor could have swayed ther esults.

We need an timetable with an deadline for our tournaments.
Like an fixed date games are finished or finished by cheasefire.
All setups for one round must setup in an limited time 3 weeks or so, the one who owe the setup and did't send out without an good reason has lost that game.
Any comments?
