I`m sure ths has been asked/discussed elsewhere, so forgive me if I missed it.

Can I set the target filtering for the AI side whilst designing a scenario? If so, does this carry over to people who do not have the CD version?

Thanks for any help.

Yes and yes. AI units can have filters set by the scenario designer. My two scenarios in the latest patch make use of it.

And the scenario filters are used in the free version as well, the only thing is that the player can cancel the filter of his units but cannot set a new filter.

Excellent.

That opens up the possibility of some excellent ambushes by the AI.

You can all thank Artur in large part for this feature. He brought it up and wouldn't let go during the earlier playtesting for the patch. Honestly I didn't think it would have that much of an impact on game play until I saw it in action. It was one of those things I thought would drag the game out into a player having to click and OK or reject every possible shot for just about every unit, every turn. Don and Andy came up with an excellent method that allows extensive player control but doesn't drag the game down into a Yes/No click fest for every shot for those who want to use it. Best of all, it can be used as a scenario design tool and not just a player only feature.

That opens up the possibility of some excellent ambushes by the AI.I plan to make extensive use of it during my Rebel vs Nigerian generated campaign so look for screenshots and some insight into its use in that AAR thread.

Look forward to that, as getting to grips with the workings of it are taking me a little while.
