Hi Colonel. I read in another thread that Mangus is having computer problems so it might be the reason.

regards.

If your refering to the map for the next round then it's in the process at the moment.
Mad Russian has drawn up a lovely map but i might need to tweak it a bit to equal up the terrain for both sides.

If it's a problem with the currnet map your playing on in Rnd5 i'm afraid you will have to remind me. Still getting used to the time constraint running tournys puts on you:nuts:

Would you put your game on hold for a future map? I am sure that it will not be revealed until allthe game sof the present round are in and finished.

It would be interesting to know how all the games are going in BoB tourney. How close is everyone to finishing. Do keep in mind that draws will go to the one with the highest points.:smoke:

Ahhh, the famed "my units aren't routing in an orderly fashion" issue.

The map was specifically designed with 2 "friendly" map edges per side, as off-map there "are" other friendly formations moving along as well.

This will indeed cause "routed & broken" units to seek safe havens where ever they are. Routed units are in a panicked state and give little thought to making wise decisions in that state.

I'll send mangus a map with "normal" :hmmm: friendly map edges...
He can take it from there. :salute:

I tested this a few months ago, so my memory could be fading. But I believe that when a custom made map is used in a quick battle, that quick battle ignores the "friendly" map edges that the designer specified.

I have never seen a flag on a map edge. :smoke:

There's a flag on the map edge in your game?

I'm not aware of that "change," but can anyone else confirm it?

It was to be generated maps I thought for this tourney.....but hay go with the flow...and then there is issues with a premade map..... I guess one cannot please everyone.:smoke:

How far away from the edge does it stop being the edge?:smoke:

what you talkin' about willis? This doesnt have any to do with flags. I has to do with friendly map edges, ie the direction in which a unit will run when it routes.

It is actually pretty easy to test.

Yeah, looked into it last night. Done a flat small map and set the Friendly edges to the opposite of the usual. Opened up a QB and picked a load of Conscript inf against some 105mm(in one test) & 150mm (in the other) arty.
They all started to exit from the normal friendly side.

You learn something new everyday eh!

so back to the original question - does that affect this tourney match at all?

Simple answer is no!

It will be heeded in all matches from now on but this one is to far gone and it effects both sides rather than just one, so in effect there is no real advantage; technically!

It could be argued against i know but the Umpires decision is final i'm afraid.

Hmmm, I would never had thought that the A.I. would just override the map parameters setup before hand. But I haven't done alot of QB maps with anything but "normal" friendly map edges.

Thanks for the testing done on this, and :freak: what a way to find out about it.:halo:
